Sheriff Slaps a Perp

One of South Carolina's most respected law enforcement officers, J. Al Cannon, Esq., of Charleston County, SC called an emergency press conference today to announce he slapped a driver who lead Deputies on a 20 plus mile chase in speeds averaging 100 mph.

Sheriff Cannon initiated the chase because one Timothy McManus was driving so recklessly as to have almost caused an accident with him.

According to radio transmissions, McManus was driving over sidewalks and medians, very nearly causing several other accidents, all in an effort to flee from police.
During the pursuit, the asshole avoided stop sticks on 2 occasions and he was also fired upon by police at 2 different locations. He was finally cornered at a dead end street when he put the truck in to a ditch because the tires were no longer useful.

Officers at the crash scene had him at gunpoint ordering him to surrender. He reached back in to the truck (this does not bode well with police) as if to grab something from under the seat. The K-9 was released and latched on to his arm. Within seconds, the dog was called back and officers pounced upon him to restrain him. He did not go quietly. In fact, he continued to resist and the necessary physical methods were employed to get him to comply with orders.

During his press conference, Sheriff Cannon freely admits that he slapped McManus with an open hand and said, "What the (unknown expletive) is wrong with you? You could have killed a lot of people." He admitted that he slapped the moron while he was handcuffed and in the back of the patrol car.
(He's lucky that's all he got.)

In his news conference he stated, "In retrospect, it was clearly the wrong thing to do and I certainly wouldn't have expected it from my own folks."

Not one single officer was injured in the pursuit and McManus was treated and stitched up for a dog bite. He's lucky he's still walking. Oh yea, maybe 2 cruisers got a little dented, but they were driveable.

McManus was charged with numerous offenses ranging from Driving Under Suspension to Resisting Arrest. His bond was set at over $100,000.

At his bond hearing, his wife/girlfriend or whatever, stated he wasn't a bad person and that he has 3 kids and needs to drive to work. Magistrate Linda Lombard said he didn't need to be doing what he was doing. He doesn't even have a driver's license and has a lengthy history of traffic offenses. The wife also accused the police of letting the K-9 "chomp on his arm." (Like she was there and saw it all.)
County corrections officers report that McManus is already a "disciplinary problem." Oh yea, "he's really not a bad person" with all those kind of actions.

You have to admire the Sheriff for first providing a truthful statement to state investigators, then calling a press conference to publicly announce his slight indiscretion.
This scumbag probably needed more than just a slap and I'm betting he slaps his girlfriend and kids around.

I have not lost one iota of respect for this man. I learned a long time ago, that if you screw up on the job, either take responsibility for it to your immediate supervisor, or get a lawyer and keep your mouth shut.

My Other Favorite Sheriff

Charleston County, SC

It's rare you meet a down to earth guy who started out as a patrol officer in a big city....just like you.
He worked the streets, made the arrests, did the paperwork, went to court...just like you. He did all the same things you did. Now, he's the Sheriff of one of the largest counties in the state, having earned a sterling reputation of honesty and integrity.
Even when he was Chief of what was then, a fledgling department, he ran calls and was at your back when you least expected it. A highly intelligent man, known for speaking his mind and looking out for the line officers. If you deserved it, you would get an ass chewing and he'd tell you why you deserved it. If you did something great, he'd tell you that too. He did it face to face, without threats or intimidation. He remembered every officer's first name. It was a well known fact that he despised terminating people.

It's also rare that the Sheriff of a large county finds himself in a police chase. Little did this reckless driver realize that he almost killed the Sheriff. The Sheriff then went in pursuit of the suspect. Speeds reached 120 mph and the Sheriff's SUV puttered at a mere 95 mph. Attempts to stop this clown with stop sticks proved futile and he continued on his rampage of running people off the road and acting with a total disregard for human life and property.

The Sheriff was finally able to corner the suspect at the end of a dirt road. Surprisingly, the Sheriff popped off 9 rounds at the vehicle tires, trying not to injure or kill the guy. It worked. The vehicle was disabled and the suspect apprehended.

I never would have believed it either. Then again, Sheriff Cannon is also known for his determination.

White Trash Day

This lovely couple were being detained in different police cars for stealing items from a parked car outside a convenience store.

Thomas Burke, 46, got a bit rowdy in the back of the squad car and started kicking the window. He breaks the window and while several cops are dealing with his dumb ass antics, his lovely companion, Regina Watts, 48, started her own path of destruction.

Ms. Watts slipped her handcuffs and put them down her pants. She then went on the rampage, tearing apart equipment in the police car. She pulled wires, bent the radio and antennas and then....
she had an epiphany in her drunken, Valium induced state. She urinated and defecated on the floorboard of the police car. How lady like.

There are some things that leave a cop speechless and this is one of them. All kinds of thoughts go through your mind;
You wonder how you're going to explain this to the Sarge. You've got a prisoner who slipped her cuffs and had the potential to escape, there's 2 police cars virtually disabled and one prisoner no one will want to touch. You won't live this one down for weeks. And then, how do you move or even clean the car without yaking up your lunch?

Combative prisoners, even damaging the window....all been done before. The slipping of the handcuffs. Been done. The defecating AND urinating in the patrol car -- pretty rare. When that happens, it's usually in their own pants. No one will ever want to drive that car again.

Life as a cop.....the fun never stops.

Councilman Calls for Sheriff to Renounce his 2nd Amendment push

My favorite Sheriff, Chuck Wright of Spartanburg County, SC

recently encouraged women to go out and get their concealed weapons permits. He did this because of recent attacks on women.

When he made this statement, he made it more than once and stood his ground. He did not waver and he had the backing of the local solicitor's office and even the Governor.
As a direct result of his very public statements, over 600 people from that county recently applied for their concealed carry permits.

One lone, stupid, naive Democrat on county council this week made a news release denouncing Sheriff Wright's actions as irresponsible. WTF? Councilman Michael Brown believes that the Sheriff's ideas of allowing citizens to legally arm themselves is promoting lawlessness. Councilman Brown seems to think that more time should be spent counseling at risk youth. BWAAAA! I believe many of you laugh with me and you do so for so many obvious reasons.

Mr. Brown has his head in the sand. Ah, on second thought, maybe it's in his ass.
The 2nd amendment is a powerful thing and the Sheriff believes in a person's Constitutional right to bear arms.
He's also a realist. There is no way that the police can protect us all 24/7 and, according to the US Supreme Court, they have no duty to.

The city of Chicago and the District of Columbia tried banning guns and look what happened to them. They became the most lawless cities in the US.

Nope, the Sheriff of any county has a duty to preserve and protect the Constitution of the US and that includes upholding both the 2nd and 14th amendment, as well as all applicable state laws.

Burglar Gets a Bullet

When will the bad guys with guns learn? They just don't get it. More and more people are arming themselves against the criminal element and rightfully so.
I don't know about anywhere else, but in South Carolina, there's been a spurt of law abiding armed citizens fighting back.

The bad guys are too stupid to watch the news or read. Too bad. They might learn something.
What would they learn? They might learn that if they are in the act of committing a dangerous felony, that the homeowner could shoot back and they could die. Oh yes, the homeowner or the victim of a crime such as this, who actually had to use deadly force, is immune from criminal prosecution and from any civil action. Imagine that...the victim has a few rights.

In this particular incident, a man is taking a nap when a neighbor calls to alert him of 2 guys breaking in to his apartment. He confronts the 2 burglars going through his kitchen cabinets. One burglar is armed and points a gun directly at him. He flees upstairs and gets his own gun. He comes downstairs and shoots one of the burglars. They both fled in a car. As luck would have it, their driving sucked enough to draw the attention of the po-po.
Naturally, they were most reluctant to stop for the police. After all, one guy has a gun shot wound and there's a stolen gun in the car. Oh yes, let's not forget the burglary. Dumb shits. They're lucky they're not dead.

And here's a shocking statistic, the bumbling burglars are both black males, 18 and 19 years of age.

CWP Holder Shoots Armed Robber

Anyone who has spent any time in the southeast knows all about the Waffle House. They're open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, and on all holidays. They still use the old fashioned, short order cook language, with the waitress and the cook bantering back and forth.
A particular bit of Waffle House slang was an inspiration for a Hootie and the Blowfish album titled "Scattered, Covered and Smothered." The WH definition is 'scattered' on the grill, 'covered' in onions, and 'smothered' in cheese. Oh yea, their food is a heart attack looking for a place to happen.
But there's always their famous coffee and sweet tea....which is always free to first responders.

And considering they are open 24/7, the customers and clientele are always varied. From cops, truckers, blue collar workers, and of course, the after night club crowd. With that last thought, some Waffle Houses have been forced to hire off duty cops on Friday and Saturday nights just to deter some of the problems associated with alcohol consumption. So it seems pretty clear that there's always someone in a Waffle House.

It is said that if there is a Waffle House open following a disaster, it's a positive sign that things are recovering. It's a sign of normalcy. An oasis in the middle of a desert.

Imagine some moronic thug and his friend who hatch this ingenious plan to rob a Waffle House. It tends to conjure up hilarious laughter from cops. Even if a robbery or other crime went down successfully, I have found that waitresses and cooks have pretty good memories and take criminal matters upon their turf rather personally.

So here we have 2 black male thugs who attempt to rob a Waffle House at 1:15 a.m.
A customer in the restaurant was a concealed weapon permit holder and he was armed. The permit holder attempted to detain the robber at gun point until the arrival of police. However, one robber was stupid enough to point his handgun at the permit holder. 19 year old Dante Lamont Williams was shot and killed by this armed law abiding citizen. He was shot once in the head and once in the chest. The other robber fled the scene.

According to the Law Abiding Citizen's Self Defense Act, and the Protection of Persons and Property Act, the CWP holder has the right to employ deadly force in self defense, defense of a third person, or to prevent the commission of a dangerous felony.
Williams and his cohort were clearly armed and presenting a threat. What I see is that a law abiding citizen took the appropriate action necessary to eliminate a threat. Unless the CWP holder violated the terms or conditions in their permit, (for example, the Waffle House could have had a sign prohibiting concealed weapons upon their premises), then it is clear that the CWP holder not only acted within the legal limits of the law, he also did the world a favor.

A Night of Foolishness

Most of the time, I pick a story and run with it. Usually I'm just ranting on about what's wrong in the world or oddities I come across. Sometimes people tell me stories and I might share it with you. I do love a good story, bizarre and otherwise.

It was late on Sunday. Generally speaking, a night that's rather chilly outside does help keep the roaches inside. Sunday night had a weird aura about it. Maybe because of the Monday holiday or maybe there was just something in the air. It seemed like every call involved alcohol, juveniles, and the weird and stupid.

It was kind of a chilly night for the southeast. The temps were hovering around freezing so what people that were out, they were bundled up.
Last night, the flag-me-down light was lit on the patrol car. At least 4 times, people waved us down as we were randomly patrolling.

For instance; It's 11:30 p.m. and we spot a w/m juvie loitering around the parking lot of a closed drugstore. He waves at us. We pull off to speak with him and then 3 more younger kids on bicycles come out from the side of the building. The one that waved us down was the oldest and 15 yoa. He apparently didn't mean to wave us over to him. While we're talking to him, we notice he's got a wad of tobacco wedged in his cheek. He's also wearing braces. My partner makes him dump the can and spit out the crap in his mouth. How can his orthodontist not notice that? All the kids have their own phones so we get an adult from one of them. An 18 year old brother comes to pick them up some 20 mins later. It's cold out and all of them were wearing some kind of camoflauge hunting gear. They looked like a bunch of mini me rednecks.
They really weren't a major problem and had respectful attitudes...but my kids sure as hell wouldn't be out at this time of night, school night or not.

We get flagged down at a gas station some 20 mins later by 2 w/m's who were gassing up. We recognize one as an arrest from the week before for being loud, wasted and stupid. He's whining like a girl because his former girlfriend got on his Facebook page, posted a nasty status update, changed his Facebook password and did the same on his yahoo email account. After she did all that, she sent him a text taunting him. If the idiot hadn't given her his passwords, it never would have happened. Nothing criminal yet. Sorry about your luck.
Funny. He's wearing camo pants and his buddy is wearing a camo vest.
Wear your camo day! No one told us.

We all know that jurisdictions can often be a puzzle. Sometimes you have to go outside your jurisdiction to get to the other side, or maybe your jurisdiction is one side of the street. We're passing a cemetery at 1:30 a.m. and a car's tail lights catch our eye. We turn around and enter the cemetery. Sad but true fact... the bronze vases and other statuary are often stolen and taken to scrap yards for the cash. Scrap yard dealers don't care where it came from. Even though we're very sure the cemetery is not in our jurisdiction, we pull in behind a mini van. We ask dispatch to call the proper jurisdiction, but we light them up and approach, seeing 3, maybe 4 people inside the van. We shine our lights around inside and don't see much of anything that would indicate criminal activity. We start asking questions of their reasons for being there and got a crazy ass answer. They show us some electronic equipment and a cell phone app. They were ghost hunters! Too funny not to believe from a couple of pimple faced geeks.
We cancel the back up and tell them to leave. We laugh hysterically and try to tell dispatch what we just did without sounding like giggly little girls.

About 2 a.m. and we're sitting at a traffic light minding our own business when some old guy over at the local Stop n Rob is yelling, "HEY MR. POLEECE!" We do our civic duty and make a u-turn. It becomes apparent that our number one fan is wearing a good many layers of clothes and is not so coordinated. He can't wave his arms and walk at the same time. It puts him off balance and he falls. All those layers of clothes protects him though, as he barely notices and bounces right back up like it's an every day occurrence. We get up close with the car. We get 10 feet away from him and we give each other that silent look. You know, that certain "oh, shit" look partners give each other when they know that the last thing they wanted to deal with tonight was a slobbering, smelly drunk. Yea, we both have to get our asses out of the car and freeze while talking to this drunken fool. The guy's a mumbler and we hear every other word, and that word we do hear jumps about 10 decibels. He's a wobblin' and holding on to the car to steady himself. We finally get that the Stop n Rob was not hospitable to him and ejected him from the premises. He was indeed insulted. Of course, when you're dealing with a smelly drunk, they always want to get up close and personal, and they want you to give them a ride. Stupid ass doesn't even remember how he got there. As luck would have it, we were able to contact someone who got him in about 20 minutes. WHEW! Crisis averted.

Some of you have laptops in your car and there's those rare occasions that they actually work. The DMV goes down, the server is slow...blah, blah. You shut it down, you sign back in. No luck. When this happens, you have to do it the old-fashioned way. Call the dispatcher on the radio and run it. The dispatchers know who has computers in their cars and who doesn't. Sometimes it's kind of boring and someone needs to liven things up. We ran a guy's DL number the other day and well, we were saving this one for a special occasion. We gave the dispatcher the DL number. Within seconds, the dispatcher is attempting to pronounce an Indian first name that is about 15 characters long. She tries it twice and then catches on by saying, "you have it on your screen, don't you?" We will, of course, be paying for that one.

It's 3 a.m. and most everyone with any sense is inside some place warm. Oh Christ! Wal-mart is open 24/7.
Oh no....a shoplifter on a motorized shopping cart. Hot pursuit. It was a harrowing and exhausting chase, but we caught our man. He did not want to go to jail.
And get this, the very large larcenous lunatic was wearing a green camouflage hat.

Kenneth Perdue

36 year old former Deputy Kenneth Perdue here of the Lancaster County Sheriff's office, must have thought that being on duty, in uniform, and driving his patrol car wouldn't get him noticed. Stealing $500. worth of ceramic tiles from a house under construction falls in to the "Are you that freakin' stupid?" category.

Things are tough out there and I would love to renovate my kitchen for free, but I sure as hell am not going out there and steal the products to make it happen. I need my job too much to pay those other bills.

Needless to say, the Sheriff of Lancaster County is quite embarrassed by the incident, and rightfully so.

A Medic's Misstep

It just seems like there's a sudden epidemic of molesting medics or maybe the latest idea for a lawsuit on a government agency. Maybe I've had my head in the sand, or maybe these stories have always been shielded from the media. But here's yet another case of a medic copping a cheap feel on a patient while in the back of an EMS wagon.

After 13 years on the same job, why risk so much for so little?
It's quite true that some men don't always "think" about the long term consequences of their short term sexual needs.

One also has to wonder about the other side of the coin. Is it just another case of a woman crying foul for a settlement?

Since law enforcement has gone to using cameras, perhaps the emergency medical services might have to start considering the same thing. It comes down to 2 people in the back of a truck. Does patient privacy outweigh the need for any accusations of improprieties?

One way or another, this guy's in a world of shit.
And he's in a world of shit because he not only admitted it, but they have DNA evidence that supports her claim.

Feds Dragging their Feet

Does the title of this story come as a surprise to you? It's what the feds do best.

Let's revisit previous blog entries concerning these small, sleepy little towns known as
Cottageville, SC and Eutawville, SC

From newest to oldest, the blog entries I refer to are;

Around the middle of last year they both experienced officer involved shootings perpetrated by officers known as "gypsy cops."
The definition of a "gypsy cop" is basically an itinerant law officer who floats from one department to another, usually after short terms of employment. The officer's employment history is sometimes peppered with accusations and complaints that probably resulted in a 'resignation' or a termination that didn't warrant the revocation of their certification. Quite often, these gypsy cops wind up at small departments that have small budgets and salaries to match. Small towns normally can't afford to pay to put an officer through the mandatory training/academy so find themselves as a magnet for the gypsies.

Off. Randy Price and former Mayor Bert Reeves

The shooting in Cottageville, SC has many layers of controversy. A gypsy cop by the name of Randy Price fatally shot the former town mayor while they were on an isolated dirt road. No one knows why they were there and what transpired. There were no witnesses. The former mayor had a history of driving violations with one reckless driving incident almost costing him his life due to a traumatic brain injury. Blood tests revealed that he was under the influence of marijuana at the time of the accident. Reeves was involved in a highly publicized domestic dispute, with his wife obtaining a restraining order. He was also noted for being caught on tape telling officers to write more tickets to ensure their own salary. Reeves took pride in the fact that his little town was known for being a speed trap.
Officer Randy Price had 8 law enforcement jobs in 11 years. This article details his work history.
Some of Price's employment history also plays out like a serial drama.

As with all officer involved shootings in SC, they are investigated by the State Law Enforcement Division. (SLED) Once their investigation was concluded, SLED turned it over to the state's chief prosecutor.

The chief prosecutor for the 14th judicial circuit, Duffie Stone, has written a letter to US Attorney Bill Nettles asking for a federal grand jury. Stone's letter read in part, “Due to the complex nature of this investigation I am asking that your office use the investigative abilities of the federal grand jury to assume the investigation and prosecution of this matter."

That's where it was left.

And now, rumors are swirling around in this small town. The present mayor of Cottageville is the former mayor's aunt. It is reported that she sent an email to other council members that she had received a "verbal" report from SLED that the investigation was over and that Randy Price would be exonerated of all charges. SLED states that no such thing has happened and that the investigation is still under review by the feds.
The feds have released no information whatsoever on a case that's been pending for about 8 months.

Over to Eutawville, SC

In May 2011, the former police chief, Ricky Combs, shot and killed retired corrections officer, Bernard Bailey outside of town hall, allegedly in a dispute over a traffic ticket written to his daughter. This case had some racial implications because the police chief is white and Bailey is black. The family called for patience and were reluctant to call it any kind of racially motivated issue. Although the NAACP and 500 others were ready to call it that.
This case was also investigated by SLED and then suddenly, the Dept. of Justice picked up the ball, essentially bypassing the state's prosecutor.

In November, the mayor of Eutawville announced a new police chief had been hired for the town. The details of Ricky Combs' departure have never been released. He too, had a history of being a nomad cop. Although his was not as extensive as Randy Price's.

So when will the feds get off their asses and make a decision on these cases? I'm willing to bet that the feds will release their findings about the time the snow melts in Alaska.

Home Invader Meets Shotgun

The headlines read: "Oklahoma woman shoots and kills intruder; 911 says it's ok to shoot."
Well, that's not what the 911 dispatcher said. She said, "I can't tell you that you can do that, but you do what you have to do to protect your baby."
That statement does not in any way indicate that the dispatcher was giving permission for the young mother to shoot and kill the burglars. She was obviously being non committal, as is her job.
But in the end, the mother did indeed do what she had to do to protect her 3 month old son.
I love how the media puts that twisted little spin on things.

Facts are; On Dec. 31 at 2:00 p.m., 18 year old Sarah McKinley was alone in the trailer with her baby.
2 men were attempting to break in to her residence, one of which was armed with a large hunting knife.
Ms. McKinley put the baby in a rear bedroom with a bottle, and then armed herself with a handgun and a shotgun while she called 911 from her cell phone. She stayed on the line with the dispatcher while the burglars continued their efforts to forcibly open the door.
Once the door went down, and the first suspect began his unlawful entry, Ms. McKinley racked off one shotgun blast to the first intruder, striking him in the upper torso. He died still clutching the hunting knife. The other intruder ran like hell. He later turned himself in to police. McKinley believes that one of those men had recently begun stalking her.

McKinley was forced to take the life of another in an effort to protect herself and her child. The state of Oklahoma is a Castle Doctrine state. She used deadly force during the commission of a dangerous felony and she had no duty to retreat. She stood her ground and defended her castle. Good girl!
If that were not enough drama, just the week before she lost her husband to cancer.

She will not be prosecuted for any crime. What jury in the world would indict a woman protecting her child...Castle Doctrine or not?

Not only will the remaining suspect be charged with burglary for the unlawful entry, but he will also be charged with murder for causing the death of his accomplice.

In case you hadn't noticed, I'm a fan of the Castle Doctrine.
Aristotle once said, "Law is order, and good law is good order." Nothing like a good law to serve justice.

In case you haven't noticed, South Carolina is a red state. Yep, we're kind of like dem folks in Texas.
It's not that we do things bigger and better, it's just that we're a lot alike.
We have the death penalty. Of course we don't expedite the death penalty process as quickly as Texas, but we're working on that.

We stand firmly on our 2nd Amendment Right to Bear Arms. Just like Texas, you can even own a gun in your home or place of business and you don't need a permit. You don't need a permit to even have it in a closed compartment of your vehicle. (There are some exemptions regarding those under 21 and convicted felons)
Just like Texas, we have the Castle Doctrine.

The Castle Doctrine plainly states that you have no duty to retreat in your home or place of business. You can stand your ground and protect yourself and your property, especially during the commission of a dangerous felony. Armed robbery would fall under the dangerous felony category, and well, why the hell should I have to run away or retreat? I'm going to defend my castle, dammit!

Case in point, 2 armed robbers enter a small business enterprise, namely a barber shop, and try to rob the store owner. The store owner pulls out a gun of his own and shoots one of the robbers. The other flees. Well, both are captured and are either in jail or going there soon.

Unless the business owner is someone who is prohibited under law from owning or possessing a firearm, he acted within the legal limits of the law.

Screen Test

Back in the day, before seat belt use became mandatory everywhere, there was a way of persuading a somewhat rowdy customer in the back seat to shut the hell up. It was called the "Screen Test."

The rear view

There would be those poor cats and dogs that ran out in front of the police car. You can't run over them! Sometimes the brakes would lock up for absolutely no reason. We had horrible mechanics. The abrupt stop would cause the rear passenger to move forward, striking the screen.
Back in the 90's, laws and rules about the rear seat belt use almost eliminated the problem, so other 'accidents' would happen. For instance, I know I warned that child molester about that step. I told him to duck when getting in the back seat of the car, but people don't always listen.

Yea, accidents happen in our line of work.

Now, before you go all righteous and start lecturing, I have always been the type of cop who abhors the use of excessive force. There comes a time when the fight is over. I can't tell you how many times I wanted to beat the snot out of people, but I did everything within my power to restrain myself once they were cuffed. I often used words to tell a piece of shit what I thought of them. Nowadays, though, I think most cops focus like their actions are going to be on the nightly news or youtube. Everybody has a phone with some kind of recording device. I sure as hell don't want to be on youtube.

With all that said, I saw this article in the newspaper and just laughed uncontrollably. One idiot by the name of Mark Altman Jr. was arrested in 2009 by the police for drunk and disorderly, resisting arrest, and for probably just being an asshole.
He claims that the transporting officer slammed on the brakes for no reason, causing him to slam his face into the screen and breaking his nose. Yes, you read it right. It was 2 years ago! Did he just now sober up and hatched this genius plan to get some settlement money?

The police department states it's the first they've heard of it.

Homeowner Shoots Squatter

The owners of a vacant home for sale learned of a potential squatter in their home so went to investigate.
The homeowners go to their unoccupied dwelling fully armed. They confront the suspect, a struggle occurs, and the trespasser is shot in the face.
I have to ask why they didn't call the police before they went over there armed and ready.
I also have to ask why they still own a home that's been on the market for 4 years. I know, tough economy.

It's unknown if any criminal charges will be pressed against the homeowners.

Under the Castle Doctrine law, a homeowner has the right to employ deadly force in the protection of themselves and their property and they have no duty to retreat. My guess is that they won't press charges against the homeowner, as the struggle for the gun made the trespasser the aggressor. If in fact no criminal charges are brought because of the Castle Doctrine, then this will also prevent the trespasser from initiating a civil case against the homeowner.

Word to the wise.....just call the police.

On August 6, 2008, Deputy Dennis Compton of the Colleton County Sheriff's Dept, SC was shot and killed when he responded to a residential burglar alarm at 3:00 a.m.
He surprised 2 burglars and one shot him in the chest with a 12 ga. shotgun. The alarm company had contacted the key holder and he responded. Upon the homeowner's arrival, he saw the Deputy down and called for help on the Deputy's police radio.

A lengthy manhunt and investigation resulted in 2 arrests a month later.

These 2 scumbags;

Who, at the time were 20 and 21 years of age, were charged with the Deputy's murder. It has never been determined who actually pulled the trigger, as both blame the other. However, in SC, they were both complicit in a felony resulting in death and they can both be charged as if they both shot him.
The local DA did not hesitate in charging both with murder and pushed for the death penalty.
South Carolina still has the death penalty and tends to use it. Most especially for circumstances such as this.

Just before trial, the defendants both plead guilty to avoid the death penalty. They both got life without parole. They'll rot in prison and then rot in hell!

These 2 brothers are detained after a traffic stop, cuffed and placed in the back seat of the squad car. Little do they know that there is a dash cam video filming their every move. The police department was so kind as to release copies of it to the media. The audio quality is a little poor but you can clearly see how the guy on the right pulls the drugs out of his butt, does a hand off, and then lets his poor brother ingest it, just so he doesn't take the rap.

Within in an hour, brother goes in to convulsions and dies from acute cocaine toxicity.

North Charleston police dept is looking in to charging the big brother with involuntary manslaughter.

Just one day after his K-9 partner, "Fargo" was shot and killed in the line of duty, Master Deputy Warren Cavanagh of the Richland County Sheriff's Dept., received the honor of Deputy of the Year.
The decision on the award had been made 2 weeks ago, but the official announcement was made one day after Fargo's memorial service. Upon receiving the honor, an audience of his peers gave him a standing ovation.

Under South Carolina's Code of Laws:

SECTION 47‑3‑620. Unlawful to torture, mutilate, injure, disable, poison, or kill police dog or horse.

It is unlawful for a person to wilfully or maliciously torture, mutilate, injure, disable, poison, or kill a dog or horse used by a law enforcement department or agency in the performance of the functions or duties of the department or when a dog is placed in a kennel off duty or a horse is placed in a stable off duty. However, a police officer or veterinarian may perform euthanasia in emergency situations when delay would cause the dog or horse undue suffering and pain.

It is unfortunate that it is only a misdemeanor offense to do such things to our 4 legged partners. It should be a felony!

Thankfully, bail was denied for this sorry piece of shit.

Police Dog Down

It's always a sad day when one of our own goes down. Specially trained police K-9 dogs are also part of the family of blue. They not only track, hunt for drugs, and attack on command, but they've been known to make the ultimate sacrifice in an effort to protect their handler/partner. Such as the case here.

"Fargo" took several shots from an armed robber, possibly preventing his handler, Master Deputy Warren Cavanagh, from being shot too. Even if Fargo had been wearing his vest, veterinarians believe that it would not have sufficiently protected him from the fatal wound.

Our deepest condolences to Dept. Cavanagh, his family and the whole department on their loss.

Today is D-Day. Today is the day that a 67 year old woman who displayed plastic, red bulls testicles from the bumper of her truck goes on trial for an alleged obscenity violation.

Police Chief Franco Fudo of the Bonneau, SC police dept. played Mr. Morality and found an antiquated traffic law to cite Virginia Tice with, handing her a summons with a bond amount of $445.00. All because she was exercising her rights under the 1st Amendment. No, Truck Nutz or Bulls Balls, are not illegal anywhere in the continental US.
The legislation in SC is written as:

SC Code of Laws 56-5-3885 - "A sticker, decal, emblem, or device is indecent when taken as a whole, it describes, in a patently offensive way, as determined by contemporary community standards, sexual acts, excretory functions, or parts of the human body."

Most police departments in the area have indicated it's a waste of time. Police have better things to do. Also, no one has been prosecuted with this offense since the late 90's when the ACLU stepped in and managed to get the charge dismissed. The law has just never been repealed.

Chief Fuda apparently has too much time on his hands that he must be memorizing the V & T code book.

A rather prestigious law firm in Charleston, SC got wind of Ms. Tice's predicament and offered to represent her pro bono. Ms. Tice's attorney was about to ask for a jury trial, when it was discovered that Police Chief Fuda had already done so, thereby circumventing the defendant's right to choose a jury trial or bench trial.

Today at 10:00 a.m., jury selection begins. The news media, as well as the ACLU, are watching this case closely.
If there isn't another postponement, I'm betting it will be taken care of before jury selection begins. There's too many things wrong with this case to waste the taxpayer's time.

Today's news reports that this trial was postponed yet again because, "not enough potential jurors showed up. What the hell does that mean? You get a subpoena, you go to court. Chief Fuda seems confident that this will proceed to trial as he is emphatic he will not drop the charges. Right now, he's become the 'judge' of the so-called obscenity statute and is standing in the shoes of the 'prosecutor.' It seems to me that the use of a 'jury' is a minor formality that he's trying to manipulate to his advantage.

'Tis the Season

'Tis the season where the stress of the holidays makes people do stupid things. Some people whom you would never suspect as being on the edge, find themselves thinking that there is no recourse but to jump off a bridge, put a bullet on to their head, over dose, etc. We all know it's not the answer. In fact, it leaves behind friends and family who wish you hadn't done that. It is primarily a selfish act and certainly not a means to the end.

Then there are those who deserve an ass whoopin' in the highest sense. Some of these maggots you would just love to throw off a bridge - a couple of times. Using a bungee cord, of course. That's some scary shit.
I'm talking about the burglars, thieves and other maggots of society who prey on those of various socio-economic backgrounds. They don't care who they take from. It's all for their own selfish greed and satisfaction. They have robbed from those who have borrowed to the hilt in an effort to make Christmas special for their children and grandchildren. They mug easy targets in busy shopping centers; from tearing shopping bags from people to breaking in to cars in the parking lot.

The worst maggots of all are those that prey on the elderly. They are the hustlers and swindlers who approach them or call them by phone with some sad story about needing money for some made up charity. Some unsuspecting elderly person will give up their credit card number and social security number because they are duped in to believing it's a charitable cause. I think even some of these so-called legitimate charitable causes need an ass whoopin'. How dare they make threats and somehow lay blame on their mark (my mother) if they don't give them money.
Many of these children's charities and yes, even some of these so-called organizations who solicit on behalf of fire departments and police departments are bogus.

You see it all the time...just read the paper, listen to the news. They warn you to lock your cars while in the mall and put your purchases out of sight, and in the trunk. NEVER give your social security number to anyone! Don't give bank account number or credit card numbers over the phone or to ANYONE that YOU haven't called.

I know that if someone tried to rip off my parents, I'd be ready to kick some ass and I wouldn't stop until the world saw what kind of swindlers and cons there are in the world. They would rue the day.

I inherited this determination from my mother. She was always a fighter and a very good one at that. She knew all the right words and managed to persuade people to see her way of thinking. And she always managed to do it with just words. I admire her for that. Now, in her golden years, she just wants to peacefully retire and get away from all this nonsense and drama. She wants to lounge quietly in a warm climate, poolside, with her kindle. She earned this and deserves this.

She has chosen to give to one charity and one charity only. Toys for Tots, sponsored by the USMC. I don't know why she chose this one specifically, maybe because her son was in the corp., but that is her choice.
We all know that she is intelligent enough to make rational decisions and to do so with discretion.

She also has an answering machine/voice mail and caller ID. If she doesn't recognize the number, she doesn't answer it. If they leave a message from one of those sob story, so called charitable organizations, she does not return their calls. In fact, she has an obsession with the delete button. She does that with her emails too.
She has a "Go away. Leave me alone" attitude with these people and knows a con when she hears one.

My message here is that you should look out for your parents and grandparents. Even people my age are often intimidated by today's electronics. Take the time to show a different generation all about voice mail, caller ID and email. My mother was quite set in her ways when it came to books. Along came the Kindle. She researched it herself and mulled it over for awhile. It really is a remarkable gift for a book reader. Once you get one, you wonder why you hadn't done it sooner. iPads are user friendly and with wi-fi, no convoluted hook ups or expensive software is necessary. "There's an APP for that!" I know my Mom despised that old laptop she had. Now, with her iPad, she checks her mail every day, plays her games, watches movies, and even does her banking. She now considers herself "geek-a-fied."

If you're having trouble deciding what to get your parents or grandparents, these are some things you should consider. And again, ALWAYS look out for them, but don't be over-protective. They seriously hate that.

TSA: Those Stupid Assholes

Here we have a 17 year old pregnant teenager. Nothing so shocking in today's society.
This pregnant teenager is traveling from Jacksonville, FL to Norfolk, VA. Again, so what?

This dingbat travels with her precious redneck purse that has a replica of a gun on it. She travels from Jacksonville to Norfolk carrying this purse on the plane and does so without incident. It's the return trip that causes the uproar. Hey, whaddya know? Looks like somebody in Norfolk was doing their job.

Keep in mind, I have absolutely no love for the TSA and their intrusive, tactless, and possibly even hazardous means of screening for potential threats. I am not fully convinced that the full body image scanner is as harmless as they say, since our government has this really bad habit of sweeping things under the rug and telling us naive citizens that they know what's best for us. Often times, we are a stupid sheeple.

No, what I have issues with is the fact that this little incident was carried by the international news media and every article drew a picture of the TSA once again over stepping their boundaries. In this case, the TSA people in Jacksonville made a huge, freakin' mistake. That thing never should have made it on the plane. The law is very specific in that replicas of weapons, including guns, are not allowed on the plane. You can't go in to a courthouse or any other government building that might utilize a metal detector, with that purse. It looks too much like the real thing. Those Stupid Assholes spend too damn much time worrying about the 3 oz. rule and not enough time looking for serious threats. Granted, this was fake, but I've seen some working handguns on various accessories from belts to purses.

This is a 17 year old girl who thinks she's so mature. Honey, if you had an ounce of common sense, you would have known that you would indeed attract some attention with that purse. You've certainly attracted the attention of the feds and you won't hear the last of it. "Replicas" have been on the banned list since 2002. Do your homework. Oh, wait, she's 17 and most likely not an honor student.

While I am the first to admit that the TSA has had more than its share of moronic circumstances and incidents, this one seems kind of simple; The TSA should have caught it in Jacksonville and she should have reconsidered her fashion accessories.

Is this any way to treat a Hero?

It looks like our hero, Sgt. Dakota Meyer is being accused of alcohol abuse and being mentally unstable, most likely in retaliation for outing a company that is selling high powered rifle scopes to a country that makes it a habit of killing our soldiers. Namely, Pakistan.

It is generally the policy of businesses everywhere that extreme caution be used concerning the circumstances of a previous employee, lest you get sued. BAE Systems doesn't seem too worried about that happening to them.
If they can't prove their allegations, by say an arrest and conviction, then they take a serious risk of being named in a civil suit for slander and defamation of character. Such is the case here.

Whether their allegations are true or not, BAE needs to take a long, hard look at their Human Resources policies. What they've done is brought some very negative publicity to their company and opened the eyes of the public.

I really hope that Sgt. Meyer gets the legal representation he deserves to not only clear his name, but to prove that BAE is selling out to the enemy....no doubt all in the name of the almighty dollar.

Marine Who Received Medal of Honor Fights Allegations He is Mentally Unstable

In September, President Obama awarded the Medal of Honor, the nation's most prestigious military award, to Sgt. Dakota Meyer, the marine who saved 36 of his comrades during an ambush in Afghanistan.

Obama called Meyer one of the most "down-to-earth guys that you will ever meet."

But today Meyer, 23, is having trouble getting a job because of allegations by defense contractor BAE Systems that he has a drinking problem and is mentally unstable. Meyer filed legal papers Monday claiming the allegations were in retaliation for objections he raised about BAE's alleged decision to sell high-tech sniper scopes to the Pakistani military.

After leaving active duty in May 2010, Meyer worked at Ausgar Technologies, a service-disabled veteran-owned small business in California, until April 2011.

"He exhibited a maturity for his age and an insightful capability to get the job done and provide recommendations to improve on what we are doing. I was very impressed while he was working for us. He was an outstanding employee," Tom Grant, a retired military naval officer and a senior program manager at Ausgar Technologies, told ABC News.

When asked about the allegations of mental instability and a drinking problem, Grant said, "While Meyer was working for me, I never saw evidence of either of those issues."

In March 2011, Meyer began working at BAE Systems, a British military contracting company, where he learned the company was trying to sell advanced thermal optic scopes to the Pakistani military.

"We are taking the best gear, the best technology on the market to date and giving it to guys known to stab us in the back," Meyer wrote to BAE Systems manager Bobby McCreight, his former co-worker, according to the lawsuit. "These are the same people killing our guys."

But BAE Systems is claiming that that decision is not up to them.

"The U.S. Department of State, not BAE Systems, makes the decision on what defense-related products can be exported. In recent years, the U.S. Government has approved the export of defense-related goods from numerous defense companies to Pakistan as part of the United States' bilateral relationship with that country," said Brian J. Roehrkasse, the vice president of public relations atBAE, in a statement.

In May 2011, Meyer gave his two weeks notice to BAE Systems and applied to return to Ausgar Technologies. He was approved by the U.S. government for the job, but the Ausgar hiring manager informed Meyer that he would not be hired because of allegations made by former marine McCreight.

Meyer is now suing McCreight for telling "the government program manager that Mr. Meyer should not be hired for reasons that are false and defamatory," according to Meyer's original petition.

According to Roehrkasse, BAE Systems strongly disagrees with Meyer's claims and intends to "vigorously defend [themselves] through the appropriate legal process."

Ah, the holidays....

Full of fun family dysfunction and stupid human tricks. It's the time of year where people you don't see much get together, eat loads of food and consume a great deal of alcohol. All that pent up frustration you've been holding on to all year, just bursts like a dam and sometimes it's a no holds barred confrontation.
Allow me to share some first and second hand stories with you....

Nursing homes are often an unpleasant place. Sometimes the only thing you've got left is the people in there with you.
2 old men are causing such a ruckus arguing over a pair of shoes that the attendant is forced to call the police to intercede. By the time the uniforms get there, both old men don't remember anything about an argument.

A turkey fryer may not have lived up to the expectations of someone so it wound up in the middle of the road on a dark highway. Someone else found it the hard way.

A family feud forces the homeowner to call the police. Instead of talking to the operator, he leaves the line open and the loud and verbal argument can be heard. Someone finally gets on the phone and says he wants the police to get people out of his house and then hangs up. Police will naturally be dispatched, but now you force the operator to call you back. Once again, the homeowner picks up the phone, says nothing, and hangs up. The 3rd time the operator calls back and gets the homeowner on the line pressing for info. They's all family and they's all leaving and he don't need the cops no more. Too late, 3 units show up because about 10 family members who can't get along for one day.

A guy is hanging around an all night drug store and the manager has asked him to leave. He's homeless and has nowhere to go. The clerk lets him use the phone to get some assistance and he calls 911. After stating that fact to the 911 operator and giving his name, he hangs up the phone. Upon call back, the manager answers the phone and indicates she was unaware the hapless homeless dude called 911, but that's ok, she wants him out anyway. As luck would have it, the homeless dude has an outstanding felony warrant out on him. Homeless situation resolved.

A kid decides to sell his ipad on Craigs list. He meets up with a guy in a restaurant parking lot and he sells the device for $50. cash. The naive 18 year old goes to the nearest convenience store and they tell him it's a counterfeit bill. Bad counterfeit at that.

A man calls police complaining of a man urinating on the side of the restaurant. The man is eating his dinner and tells the operator that the one night he can afford to treat himself to a meal out, he has to witness this. After this lowlife relieves himself, he goes back to the bar. The witness tells the manager, who then tries to persuade the public pee-er to pay his bill and leave the premises. When police arrive, the one witness to the crime doesn't want to be bothered with following up so the peeing perp is let go with a stern warning never to come back.

Loads of people think that cops all travel around with those handy little slim jims and will assist you when you lock your keys in your car. In some departments, it ain't gonna happen. It's an unnecessary liability that departments don't want to be burdened with. People will call 911 for that and get angry when you tell them you can't help unless there's a child or animal trapped inside. One guy went so far as to then blatantly lie that now he had a child in there. When the dispatcher told him that she would have to dispatch the fire department to extricate, he changed his tune. This moron later called back and wanted to speak with a supervisor. I'm told the Sarge set him straight.

If you have the late night munchies after a hard night of drinking, you may find that the drive in restaurant you're patronizing isn't too fond of drunk drivers either. They will actually hold up your order in an effort to prevent you from leaving until the police get there. One drunken moron couldn't navigate through the drive in lane, almost striking the building, but managed a curb instead. The police arrive and notice that the whole front end of his car is totally smashed up. It's all fresh damage on a pretty Lincoln and he didn't do it there. He's busted for DUI when he tries to drive away from the 2 police cars but only manages to navigate the car in to a ditch.

A woman comes to the police station with her semi new cell phone in it's original box. She has had some issues with an ex boyfriend and she believes this phone is being monitored. There's some kind of GPS tracking device on it because her ex always seems to know where she is and what she's doing. She wants it analyzed.

A woman calls 911 to report her husband missing. They had been drinking and arguing and he left 5 hours ago and doesn't answer his phone. She wants police.

Ya just can't make this shit up.

On another note:
One thing people should never hesitate to do...don't hesitate to call the police if you see something out of place or suspicious. Many "suspicious" calls have lead to arrests ranging from outstanding warrants, trespass, burglary, possession of stolen property, etc. Cops want to get the bad guys off the streets just as much as the public wants them off the street.

Police Impersonators

Police impersonators are downright scary. They hinder real law enforcement officers in the performance of their duties and no doubt have some deep psychological issues rife with violence.
Their objectives range from financial gain to sex assault, to some kind of egotistical thrill.

In the upstate of South Carolina, most notably in Greenville and Spartanburg counties, there is a large white male, driving a Chevy Tahoe who wants to play po-leece.

This attached news article details all reported incidents involving what is most probably the same perpetrator.
He is suspected in the sex assault of a woman, as well as trying to extort money. He needs to be apprehended as soon as possible. Cops tend to take this kind of stuff rather personally.

Words of advice;

If you're unsure of who may be pulling you over, don't hesitate to dial 911 and ask! The 911 line is a recorded line. Granted, 911 cell phone calls don't always go to the proper law enforcement agency, but it will get you darn close and we do tend to talk with one another.
Know where you are at all times and SAY IT over the 911 line.
Find a well lit, highly populated area for the traffic stop.

It's a risk they take. All emergency services personnel put their lives on the line every day for the unselfish act of trying to save others and their property.

~Law enforcement officers risk getting injured or killed by bad guys and then there's a high risk of auto accidents when you spend long hours driving.

~Firefighters risk their lives to save people and buildings from fire. They also assist as medical first responders. Since idiot drivers don't understand the concept of yielding to emergency vehicles, they too take a risk just riding on or driving that big red truck.

~Emergency medical responders risk their lives every day trying to save those less fortunate who may be suffering from the injuries of any type car or industrial accident, to an untold number of medical related ailments. They risk exposure to bodily fluids and chemicals that may cause diseases and long term side effects.

In general, being any kind of first responder is a low paying, and sometimes thankless job. It takes a special kind of person to be able to tolerate such a depressing and brutal side of humanity.

It's bad enough that law enforcement takes the brunt of people's ugliness. After all, we're always the one to deliver bad news and quite often, people resist the idea of going to jail. Can you imagine?

It's when unarmed, helpful medics and firefighters are targets of a person's rage that really assails my sensibilities.
They don't really care WHO you are, their job is to HELP you. There is no reason to become violent and confrontational with them.

Not too long ago, I reported on an impatient moron who didn't like the fact that a fire truck was blocking his driveway. He tried, unsuccessfully, to move it out of his way. He got arrested for his trouble.

There was also a recent incident of a drunk driver striking 2 firefighters who were on the shoulder of the road dousing a small car fire. They both sustained some injuries that put them out of work not for days, but weeks.
The driver of that car had recently been arrested for a previous DUI but not convicted yet so she could only be charged with a first offense (for the 2nd time) and her bond was roughly $1000.00.
Hardly seems fair, does it?

As with this incident, a firefighter is trying to help the driver who was involved in a traffic accident.

Instead, handsome here, pushes and assaults the firefighter. His bond is less than $2000.00.
I sincerely hope that he "tripped" over the fire hose while being gently "pushed" in to the back seat of the patrol car.

It ought to be a federal offense to assault or interfere with any emergency service personnel in the performance of their duties. But....I won't hold my breath.

responded to the scene of a fatal auto accident where her friend, Shana Robinson was the accused drunk driver. During the course of her interaction with Ms. Robinson, Ms. Arrowood removed a small bag of marijuana and attempted to conceal it from authorities.

To put this in perspective - The Simple Possession of Marijuana charge is really nothing compared to the Felony DUI (resulting in death) charge that Ms. Robinson now faces.

So Ms. Arrowood's twisted reasoning thought she would do right by her friend by attempting to conceal the marijuana evidence, only to get arrested herself for Obstructing Justice.

Now that her picture and story are all over the news, her future doesn't look so bright.

In a pre-trial hearing held in Beaufort County, SC, a judge heard arguments and evidence regarding the Christmas Eve shooting death of a man who parked his mini van illegally.

Tow truck driver Preston Oates is claiming he acted in self defense when he shot and killed Carlos Olivera, 6 times in the back.

While Oates had a legal right to possess the handgun and have it in his vehicle, one questions the circumstances that warranted such an unparalleled use of deadly force. Oates was later arrested for Manslaughter and his legal representative has argued that the Castle Doctrine is the shield that will protect him in his right to stand his ground.

Oates has a colorful criminal history and after being arrested on this charge and incarcerated, he tried to escape from jail, succeeding in only destroying state property.

Carlos Olivera had a SC Concealed Weapons Permit and was lawfully in possession of his own concealed handgun. However, the argument is that Olivera never, or was no longer, presenting the threat that warranted Oates' reaction.

This incident will clearly set a precedent when it comes to the claim of self defense. Watch it closely.

The SC State Highway Patrol is still investigating a fatal traffic accident last week that was -no surprise- caused by a drunk driver.

The drunken driver, a woman by the name of Shana Robinson, crossed the double solid line, striking another woman driver head on. This innocent woman was killed by Robinson's reckless actions and Robinson's passenger was also injured in the accident.

Ms. Robinson was herself being treated at the scene by an unidentified female paramedic . It is alleged that the paramedic discovered a bag of marijuana on Robinson and then attempted to conceal the find.

No charges have been filed as of yet and the trooper recovered the evidence.
The paramedic has not been identified and was out on an already scheduled vacation.

WTF!? Why publish a story if you can't substantiate the facts? Oh I forget....the liberal media's sorry ass excuse for news.

I have always been rather hesitant to keep up with today's technology. I finally gave in to pressure from relatives and friends to join Facebook.
I am, by nature, a very private person so my name and security settings on Facebook are locked up as tight as they can get.

It was only about 2 years ago that I started writing this blog. It was an anonymous release. It was a way of venting my frustrations at today's state of affairs and the things that law enforcement officers deal with on a daily basis. As I have a working relationship with a government entity, (they have their friggin' stamp on my paycheck) it is important that my political beliefs not be publicly announced. You can only imagine why.

I can't keep up with this blog as much as I'd like to, but I always try to get out one or 2 stories a week. As you can see, I am often inspired by some of the stupidest shit. I have a fan or two who regularly send me some odd stories or ideas. Then there are those moments where I am inspired to pound out a rant about what is or isn't wrong with the world.

On another note...

I don't know about you, but it seems like my wallet is always taking a hit with some kind of new electronic gadget. Last Christmas, I received the generous gift of an iPad. While it's first generation and doesn't have a camera, I have found it remarkably friendly and easy to use. In fact, my 75 year old mother is not only addicted to her Kindle, but she now keeps in touch with everyone via her own iPad and she really enjoys using all the other functions.

I think that Steve Jobs guy was a freaking genius.

Since the ipad was so easy for this old codger to operate, I decided that my new cell phone was going to be an iPhone. I waited until the 4g came out and scooped up a 3g on sale.
Hey, what do I know about g's?

Big Wheels Keep on Rollin'

As we all know, this was the last year that they were producing the Ford Crown Victoria police interceptors. Many departments went out of their way and juggled budgets to order the Crown Vic final edition for their fleets.

It's difficult to convince some of us hard liners that there is actually a car out there that can beat the roominess, maneuverability, stability and sturdiness of the Crown Vic interceptors. To hear that V-8 kick in when you accelerate....well there's nothing like it if you enjoy the muscle. Those big metal cars have saved many a police officer's life.
I am reluctant to admit that the Dodge Chargers are a decent replacement and certainly a much better choice than the Chevy Wimpala. Those cars seriously suck. The Chargers are rather cramped, with no real leg room. Put a video and computer terminal in there, and your partner gets a few knee bruises.

When you get a pretty new white Crown Vic, it has to be dressed out for it's future as a po-leece car.
The Dorchester County Sheriff's office brought one of it's brand new cars over to a detail shop to have all it's badges and decals put on.
The detail shop is located in a very busy and well lit area of a small town. He took for granted that it would be safe sitting outside all night. (SNORT!)

The shop owner arrives at 7:30 a.m. to find a scene similar to this.....

Yep, bring your own cinder blocks and steal the rims and tires off a new po-po car.
Estimated loss, no doubt coming out of the pocket of the detail shop owner, is $1600.00.

The Dorchester County Sheriff's office has had some bad luck already. Some time ago, person or persons unknown cut a hole through the fence in to their evidence compound and stole tons of copper wiring that was recovered in another case. No suspects were ever arrested in that case and I'm guessing that this one won't be all that easy to solve either.

Women Drivers

Women drivers. We all know the deal. Statistically, Asian women are the worst.
It's not ever a good idea to criticize, nag, or condemn a woman's driving. It only leads to aggravation and arguments. I know, sometimes you take your life in your hands, but most times you can diplomatically get around that or you just keep your mouth shut and wear a blindfold.

Women like to multi-task when they're driving. I can't understand why they feel the need to put on their make up when they're in the middle of rush hour traffic. Isn't that something you want to do before you leave the house? After all, the fashionable woman just cannot be seen in public without her face on.

I have been on the receiving end of many an inattentive woman driver who operates their vehicle in a less than safe manner. (That's putting it nicely) At the risk of being involved in any road rage incident, I try very hard NOT to be confrontational. Then, there are other times that I wish I had a blue light and ticket book handy.

If some dingbat broad cuts you off, or does some other moronic maneuver that makes you wish you could bitch slap her, DO NOT under any circumstances, follow her to her destination and tell her what for. You may regret that encounter.

As in this case, Sharon Brabham did not like what the man had to say to her, so she pulled out her .380 cal handgun and took a shot at him. Fortunately for him, she was a pretty bad shot. Her shot missed him but it hit another man's car. She was subsequently arrested for Attempted Murder, Possession of a Firearm during the commission of a violent crime, Discharging a Firearm in city limits and Damage to Property.
Obviously, the woman was, and may still be, a menace to society. Sounds to me like she was literally looking for trouble so she could have some target practice.

So folks, no matter how much you want to express your displeasure with a total stranger's driving habits, especially that of a woman, think twice.
It ain't worth it.

A Doughnut Tragedy

A tractor trailer driver hauling doughnuts falls asleep at the wheel. He strikes a guard rail, over-turning his rig, dumping doughnuts all over I-81 in upstate New York. OH, THE HUMANITY!
The doughnut mishap closed one lane of the interstate for about an hour.

It involves people who have no soul or conscious. People who care nothing about the lives of others.
It's not the kind of thing you want to start your day with. In fact, it is a case of Homicide by Child Abuse. With those words alone, a heavy feeling of sadness and unhinged anger may spew forth. If you want to keep yourself in a good mood, this story isn't for you.

In November of 2009, these 2 sorry ass bitches were babysitting 3 year old Serenity Robinson.

Erica Butts and Shanita Cunningham, both 23

Erica Butts was a close friend to the mother of little Serenity and also the child's Godmother. The girl's mother apparently trusted her friend Erica enough to leave Serenity with the both of them for 2 weeks, while she made arrangements to relocate to Detroit.

It's in that 2 week period that this child went through hell. Her injuries indicated that every part of her body, save the soles of her feet, was bruised and battered. The poor child had been beaten with a belt for urinating on the floor. When the child was taken to a hospital by paramedics, doctors report that little Serenity had cuts and bruises on her chest, abdomen, legs, arms, feet and back. There was a golf ball size bruise mark on her head and a large burn mark on her right leg.

The case came to light because Erica Butts' mother called 911 shortly after having a phone conversation concerning Serenity's condition. When the paramedics got there, the little one had been bathed in cold water and cleaned with bleach. Neither woman would cooperate with medics and refused to tell them where and how to locate the child's mother. They jerked the police around the same way for several days.

Take a look at the faces of those two and you can get a good idea of who was the more dominate in their relationship.
These 2 bitches went to trial recently and were then sentenced by the Judge earlier this week. They got just a little less than they deserved but the judge did what she could. They were sentenced to life in prison. YES! And as is common place with those who enjoy their public displays of such animated theatrics, both defendants "collapsed" in the court room after receiving their sentences. You have to watch the video in this link and you will undoubtedly be sickened by the obnoxious melodrama these women perpetrated.
It's very real and there was a number of plain clothes deputies in the court room for a reason.

Sheriff Says Women Should Carry Guns

Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright says all women should take gun safety / concealed weapons classes and get their concealed weapon permit. (If I lived in Spartanburg County, this Sheriff would certainly have my vote.)

It would seem that the Sheriff is very frustrated with the criminal justice system in general and how it manages to put repeat offenders back on the street only for them to continue to commit violent crimes.

One particular scumbag by the name of Walter Maurice Lance, was charged with kidnapping, criminal sexual conduct, and grand larceny in the attack of a woman in Milliken Park. This is not the first time this pervert has committed such violent crimes. This article shows some of his criminal history.

The Sheriff tells women to get their concealed weapons permit and to tote a .45 cal. While I do not agree with that weapon choice, I'm all for women to use something a little more powerful than a can of mace or pepper spray. You see, in South Carolina, a person can use deadly force in the commission of a dangerous felony and in self defense. The person who is lawfully defending themselves would not face criminal or civil action. The Sheriff is essentially telling women to take up arms and defend themselves. Hoo-rah!
Kudos to you Sheriff for speaking out. Rant or no rant, you have taken a decidedly hard stance for our 2nd amendment rights and we salute you.

Apparently thug training starts at about age 10.

Two 10 year olds were trick or treating in their neighborhood and a neighbor jokingly stated that she would steal their candy. The rookie thug reportedly said, "no you won't" and pointed a semi auto handgun at her.

She recognizes the 2 boys and calls police. Police catch up to the little armed treaters and discover that the handgun was not loaded but he was in possession of a fully loaded magazine. The other 10 year old was also in possession of a loaded handgun. Both guns were removed from the hands of these thug wanna-be's and the brats were turned over to their parents.

Apparently the guns were taken from their grandfather without his knowledge.

This story was carried by the AP, published in newspapers from AZ to MA and the United Kingdom.

It's stupidity like this that makes responsible gun owners look bad. Liberals everywhere are rubbing their little hands together, exclaiming, "see, I told you so."

In a hurry?

I could just ramble on about how even cops make dumb ass mistakes, but I won't.
We've all been in a position where we're running late for work and we speed. It's just that most people don't have the luxury of a Crown Vic police interceptor engine that we can utilize to put some distance behind us. If you find that people aren't moving out of your way any faster, you turn on those pretty blue lights and generally speaking, they move over. However, we don't really want to draw too much attention to the fact that we're travelling over 100 mph. We might draw the attention of another officer. You know.... like the state police.

It's one thing if your blues were on and you were in need of assistance chasing down a bad guy, but when you become the bad guy, reckless and moronic driver, the mutual respect thing might just go out the window. Attempting to catch up and get close enough to identify what department the reckless driver is from also puts the pursuing officer's life in jeopardy. The 2 things that will go through my mind are; is the police car stolen or is the police officer that's driving in distress?

This 5 minute video is from the dashcam of a Florida State Trooper who went in pursuit of a City of Miami police car because that car was weaving through interstate traffic at speeds as high as 120 mph. It's not until about 1:20 minutes in to the video that you can actually see the car the trooper is pursuing.

The P.O.P. Factor was pretty high on this one and that trooper didn't have much of a choice but to lock his ass up. Did you notice he put up no resistance or give much of an argument? The video doesn't lie.

TSA - Transporting Sexual Advice

Imagine, if you will, that you are a free lance writer, feminist blogger, and a law student, and you travel quite frequently. You know that the odds are high your bags will be thoroughly searched and you'll find one of those friendly "we were here" notes left in your suitcase by our friends at the TSA.

Jill Filipovic, is one such person. She is obviously a product of this new aged, share everything via a social media kind of person. She blogs, she twitters, she Facebooks. As far as I'm concerned, some people just have this desire to share too much with the world. Whatever happened to T.M.I.? My own personal philosophy is that what goes on in my bedroom, however innocuous and boring that it my be, is totally my business and not for the world to know. I'm not sharing, dammit!

Our friend Jill here, flew out of Newark, NJ to Ireland not long ago. When she got to Ireland and opened her bag in her hotel room, she found one of those standard TSA cards tucked in her luggage. This particular card has a personal note written on it.

Apparently, a TSA agent by the name of Kawika Riley discoverd Ms. Filipovic's own TSA (Transportable Sexual Aid) and felt it necessary to leave her a written note of approval.
While Ms. Filipovic had a good sense of humor about the whole incident, she did something far more freakier than traveling with a vibrator.....She shared it with the world.
Ms. Filipovic posted this entire incident on her blog and Twitter accounts.
In her effort to bring the TSA's intrusive policies to the forefront, she assumed the world was ready for her personal confession. Seriously, my life would have been totally complete without that knowledge.
Now known as the "Vibrator Blogger," Ms. Filipovic got an apology from the TSA and Agent Riley was undoubtedly dismissed from her job.

Most women that I've spoken with, have a varying degree of comments about this. However, the over-whelming majority say that this is just too far out there to tell the world.
Eh, maybe it's us old folks that some may call prudish. I call it discretion.

The Naked Truth

My highly honed investigative skills detect a pattern.

This story here is just too weird for words and it's one of those things that will be forever embedded in the mind of the arresting officer. The kind of call you just never forget. I'm just going to let you read the whole cut and paste thing as it was sent to me by a regular reader.

Police in Ohio recently arrested a near-naked woman whose apparent need to reach speeds allegedly in excess of 120 mph left her wearing not much more than a set of stainless steel bracelets.

The events leading up to a high-speed chase occurred around 4 a.m. on Oct. 11. An officer was patrolling Route 422 in Bainbridge when he clocked 28-year-old Erin Holdsworth of Hiram, Ohio, driving her 2002 Mazda 626 at nearly twice the 65 mph speed limit. The officer attempted to make a traffic stop but Holdsworth refused to comply, according toBainbridge Police Chief Jon Bokovitz.

"There was a pursuit of about seven miles," Bokovitz told The Huffington Post. "An officer from the[Geauga County] Sheriff's Office was in the area, and he put down stop sticks."

Both of the left tires on Holdsworth's vehicle were punctured by metal barbs on the tire-deflation device, forcing her to pull her disabled vehicle over to the side of the road. It was at that point that the routine stop took a bizarre turn.

It's an epidemic, naked driving...

"Well, she got out of her car on her own and she had on just a white thong and a fishnet top that was completely see-through," Bokovitz said. He added, "She was obviously under the influence."

"She was not very forthcoming on where she was coming from, what she was doing or why she was dressed the way she was," Bokovitz said.

Holdsworth allegedly refused to submit to a blood alcohol test, and Bokovitz said she appeared to be too inebriated for officers to conduct a field sobriety test with her. "She was so unsure on her feet that she probably would have fell and hurt herself," the chief said.

Despite refusing the test, Holdsworth was compliant with the arresting officer. It was not until they got her in the back of the patrol car that the stoic female allegedly became agitated, according to police.

Police footage of the arrest shows what appears to be an enraged and near-naked Holdsworth attempting to break out windows in the police cruiser. Bokovitz said Holdsworth "kicked and beat her head on the glass and everything."

Holdsworth was eventually brought under control and charged in Chardon Municipal Court with one count each of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, refusing a blood alcohol content test, fleeing and eluding, criminal damaging, driving under a suspended license, speeding and reckless operation.

Authorities did not file any charges in regard to Bokovitz's revealing clothing -- or the apparent lack thereof.

"In the state of Ohio [public nudity] has to be a willful wanton act, which in this case she wasn't really walking around or displaying herself to the public," Bokovitz said.

Holdsworth pleaded not guilty to all of the charges. She has since been freed from the Geauga County Safety Center. Holdsworth is due back in court on November 2. Attempts to reach Holdsworth were unsuccessful and it is unclear whether she has an attorney.

"It is a unique case," Bokovitz said. "We don't know where she was in the state of dress she was in. It is kind of weird but you see a lot of stuff out here doing this job."

Honest Stupidity

You gotta admire someone who is totally stupid and knows it. We deal with liars, thieves, career criminals and drunks just about every day. We've all had those comical drunks at least once in our career. The kinds of drunken fools who sound like they'd be a blast to party with, but drinking and driving is something we take rather seriously. It's an undisputed fact that drunk drivers are more likely to kill or injure innocent people than they are to hurt themselves. If we arrest a drunk that has done such a thing, making light of their drunken condition and comical antics, isn't likely to happen.

We've also come a long way in our technology. We now have videos in patrol cars and breathalyzer testing systems are literally foolproof and insanely accurate. If we get lost, we have GPS. If someone stole our car, we might have LoJack. If we need roadside assistance, some might have OnStar.

It is rare that someone uses their OnStar system to report a drunk driver, especially if that drunk driver is behind the wheel of their own car. One such drunken idiot convinced himself he was a menace to other drivers so pulled over and called OnStar. OnStar connected him to the local police department. Police responded to the scene only to find that the drunken driver was also too drunk to unlock the doors of his own vehicle. The driver called OnStar again for assistance on that.

Needless to say, Mr. Stupid was arrested for drunk driving and his BAC was .19.
If only the rest of crime fighting were so easy.

A Fire in the House

If you've ever hung out with or have a family member who is a firefighter, then you know that fire houses all over produce some of the best amateur chefs. Although I was wearing the blue, I'd often stop by my favorite house and they'd let me sit in for dinner, have coffee, use the restroom, etc. Even though some think that the finest and the bravest are arch enemies, they're not really. It's a relationship that's akin to a cousin you love to hate. We bust each other's balls, but deep down, we wouldn't hesitate to put our own lives in danger to rescue the other.

Just like all trained professionals, we preach fire safety and gun safety. It's funny how we don't always practice what we preach. How many cops do you know who have managed to discharge their weapon when they were cleaning it? I know....you're not supposed to clean a loaded weapon. You're also not supposed to play quick draw with a loaded weapon and then shoot a fellow officer. That's sad, stupid and disgusting all at the same time.

As in the case of firefighters, they too are not without their faults. Did you know that more than half the arsonists in the US are actually active, former or volunteer firefighters? Another case of sad, stupid and disgusting. Unfortunately, in both cases, there's almost no way to foresee such reckless actions.

In this particular case , a firefighter puts something on the stove to cook, and then leaves it to speak with a visitor. Next thing you know, the stove and cabinets are on fire.

Quite the career blunder and something that firefighter will never, ever be allowed to forget.

Yea, okay...my turn in the barrel. A little time in the communications division will give a person a fast reality check.

First, I'd like to say that dispatchers do not get paid enough money to tolerate the shit they take from both the public and even their friendly folks in blue. Yes, let's admit that cops can be arrogant little pricks sometimes, even to their co-workers. There's nothing like dysfunctional family love to bring out the best in all of us. And that's precisely what we are. One, big, not always so happy with your shit, kinda family.
The men and women who sit behind that computer screen, clacking away on a keyboard at better than 70 wpm, wearing a headset in one ear, and phone in the other, are valuable little saints who are virtually watching your back.

Bet you never realized that dispatchers do about 6 things at once and make it all look so easy? Then cops get a little impatient or snitty when dispatchers don't tell them what they want to hear, or send them on a crappy call, or they have to wait a few extra minutes for that paperwork check. The things they have to listen to on the other end of that phone line is enough to drive you to drink. And quite frankly, after 3 nights, I did. It's hell being in that dark little room, staring and flipping from one screen to the next at the speed of light and talking to the boys and girls that wear the red and the blue. Then....there's the adoring public...

People like to dial 911. Whether it's just a pocket or purse dial, maybe your kids got a hold of your phone, your neighbors dogs are barking at 3 p.m., you have questions about paying your traffic ticket, you need directions, and the all time favorite....what's the number to....? 411 - 911, so close, right?
Then you have to give some people credit. They are afraid that their problem doesn't constitute an emergency, so they call the direct line. Sometimes those are actual 911 situations.
Sometimes, you seriously wish you could reach out and bitch slap a few people. Dispatchers are not miracle workers.
I watched. I took calls. I entered calls. I listened to 3 different radio channels. You were doing nothing or you were doing everything all at once. It was hell.

Some of the calls I took....

Me: 911 what is your emergency?
Caller: I don't really have an emergency but....(that's always a bad sign)
One little old lady, whom I could barely understand, and had a really high pitched, raspy kind of voice, went on about her dear departed husband. I asked if she needed EMS, Fire or police? "No, don't need none of that." I had to ask her to repeat things a couple of times and finally she said, with a bit of a giggle, "guess you could probably hear be better if'n I put my teeth in?" Well, I waited for her to put her teeth in and she proceeded to tell me about her probate needs. Yep, she was telling me how to dispense with her things after she was gone. Meanwhile, while she's doing all the talking, the 911 operator is doing all the typing and a police officer has been dispatched to do what we call a, "welfare check."
Next call...

Me: 911 what is your emergency?
There's a man screaming on the other end, stating someone has been shot. He says, "get the fuckin' cops over here fast cause I'm gonna have to break the door down and get to him." About all I could get was that he was in some subdivision clubhouse, a man was down, he had to break in to rescue him, I was being stupid for asking too many questions, I needed to get someone over there....blah, blah...the more he talked, the more I was able to confirm that this is either a bogus call, or he's on drugs. Once everyone got there, they find he's hallucinating from bath salts. And go figure, he had a warrant. Wow, productive.

Me: 911 what is your emergency?
Spacey female caller: "ummmm...my boyfriend is bothering me." After the many standard questions, they're in the same motel (the best hotel/motel there is) room, he's not threatening her but she's under extreme stress, on meds and he just won't shut up. She wants a cop to get him to leave. Oh yea, there's alcohol and drugs. Cops locate boyfriend hiding in bathroom. He's got 2 outstanding felony warrants. Her wish came true.

Me: 911 what is your emergency?
"Those damn kids! They's a runnin' around here, making all kindsa noises, leavin' dare laundry all over da place, just a cussin' and disrespectin'...I want da poleece to come over and talk to dem. Well, they do and then... and elderly widower who lives alone, chases the cops off her porch while armed with a broom.

Me: 911 what is your emergency?
"Well, I think someone robbed my car."
Me: Robbed your car? You mean they broke in to it?
"What's the difference?"
I really played hell keeping a straight face on that one.
I asked if someone broke the window and stole stuff.
"yea, they robbed it."

Me: 911 what is your emergency?
My Mom is in ________nursing home and can't breathe. She said that she called for assistance from nursing staff, but no one has arrived yet. She's almost an hour away and someone needs to do something about it, NOW! She's getting impatient with the fact that she has already been transferred twice and I am about to transfer her a 3rd time. Look, people. 911 is not all knowing and all seeing. If you call from a different city, county, even state....you will not be instantly put through to the jurisdiction you want. In fact, some jurisdictions are such a puzzle or haphazard splice of parceled out crap, that a roadway could be in one jurisdiction but the homes or businesses are in another.

Me: 911 what is your emergency?
Drunk dude: "Hey....like my girlfriend, like, she says that, like, she took out a restraining order, like warrant, or like something on me and like, I want to know, like if that's true." Well, you can't tell them that over the phone. They can come down to the nearest house, show ID to verify, and we can tell you then. "Um, like, okay then..."

Me: 911 what is your emergency?
Screaming woman in the background who speaks some rough English, "Oh my God, Oh my God....I think dar's been a dog attack." I try to ask some questions. She puts the phone down and I wait....Finally, turns out her neighbor's dogs had a fur fight in their own back yard and owner of dogs got her dander up. "Oh, so sorry to bother you."

Some people call the police department believing that they are all knowing, all seeing and have all the answers. Sometimes people have a problem just getting to the point and then when you ask a direct question and actually push them for info, they feel indignant because you're pressed for time. Well, DAH!

I had a number of callers who talk faster than the human hands could possibly type. I'm gettin' on in years and the memory ain't as good as it used to be so I was trying to memorize shit and type it later. People were getting frustrated because I had to ask the question a number of times. Hey, imagine how frustrated I am. I surely want to help you, but you have to help me.

Here's some words of advice:

The dispatcher has a call screen in front of them that is set up to get the basics on the board, which is then sent to the other dispatcher, who in turn broadcasts it out to street units or enters it on the officer's computer aided dispatch screens. A simple, yet ingenious system, that saves more time than you can imagine.

So, when you call 911 or even the direct line, remember these basics...
WHAT is the nature of your call? (police - fire - ems)
then cut to the chase; "I was assaulted" "He's having a heart attack" "I heard shots."
WHERE: Give the exact location of the incident. (Sometimes there's jurisdictional issues)
WHEN : How long ago or is it happening right now?
WHO: Who is calling the police? Please give your name, address and phone number clearly and at a rate that is less than the speed of light.
WEAPONS: Yea, funny thing about that. We really don't like it when people have guns. Makes us all kinda nervous and such. Even if you own it legally, please tell us.

Lastly, dispatchers will do their damndest to help you in any way, shape or form, but they really don't have time to listen to a long winded story about anything and everything. They want the basics and they want to send it off to the officers. After that....it's out of their hands. The end.

Oh, and if your dispatcher wants coffee or a donut, be a good sport. They really do give you so much.

Neighbors Nab Burglar

You have to truly appreciate the gun laws and the Protection of Persons and Property Act of South Carolina.

To Wit:

You break in to my home or castle, you are in the commission of committing the felony crime of Burglary, also considered a violent crime. I can use deadly force on you, the burglar, because you are committing this dangerous felony and because I have the right to stand my ground. I have no duty to retreat in my own home.
I can basically shoot and and kill you, whether you are armed or not.
Truly one of the most gratifying pieces of legislation that came out of any statehouse.

2 would-be burglars enter a home illegally at about 3:45 p.m. They are confronted by the homeowners and the suspects flee the scene in two different directions. One of the suspects happens in to the right place at the just the right time. A neighbor captures one perp in his yard and holds him at gunpoint until the police arrive.
The second suspect was apprehended by police not too far from the scene of the crime.

Armadillo Assault

You know when times are so tough that you can't even get roadkill at a decent price.

A woman reportedly met a buyer to purchase a frozen armadillo and during a dispute over the price, the seller struck the woman in the chest and leg with the armadillo, leaving bruises on her body. He fled the scene.

Armadillo meat, also known as the 'poor man's pork' or 'Hoover Hogs', isn't as prevalent as it was during the Hoover administration, but is still quite popular south of the border. It is illegal to sell live armadillos, but they are often victims of road kill, traps, etc. and are still ingested by a select few in the US.

Armadillos carry a disease known as mycobacterial leprosy and the biggest hazard of a human getting infected is during the cleaning and dressing of the animal. If you've ever run over an armadillo, it's often possible for them to survive due to their extremely hard, protective shell.

Hmmm....are you sure it doesn't taste like chicken?

About 2:00 a.m. a homeowner is awakened by the sound of his dogs barking. Having forgotten to lock his door that night, a naked 17 year old runs through the front door and then crawls in to bed with the homeowner's 6 year old daughter.
The wife calls 911 while the husband maintains a hold on the 17 year old.

Shortly after police arrive and take the offender in to custody, 2 other teenagers approach the police explaining that they cannot find their missing cousin. They tell police that shortly after smoking some marijuana, Solinger became violent so they locked him in their basement. After taking off his clothes, Solinger escaped from the basement and went on a naked sprint straight to some stranger's house and in to a child's bed.

An ambulance took Solinger to the hospital where he was treated and released straight in to the arms of police who charged him with burglary.

What do they put in the drugs these days that makes so many people take off their clothes and run amok?

A Night at the Museum

What's a guy to do? Imagine you're out clubbing, pretty well buzzed and you come across this really hot chick who wants it as much as you do. You know what I mean.

You 2 leave the bar and, being the drunken 20-somethings you are, you are making total fools of yourselves as you walk down a tourist type downtown area laden with college students, historical buildings and of course, bars. It's after 2 o'clock in the morning. A hotel room in these parts is probably way out of budget and well, she's really hot.

So, just for drunken giggles, you rattle the doors of a few businesses. Ooops! We know that there's always some dumb ass business owners who quite often forget to lock a door when they close up.
You find the doors to a local museum unlocked. You're both thinking this could be a daring little place for such an encounter and well, alcohol has made you very, very brave.

Next thing you know, you're both stripped down on the floor getting in to it and then....
the cops show up and spoil the party. Yep, you set off the silent alarm, my horny friends.

The cops don't have a whole lot of sympathy for you and most likely, they're giggling hysterically behind your back.
It was consensual sex and the couple were charged with trespassing.

So there's a moral to the story here....but I'm just laughing too much...

Machete Madness

Near Hilton Head Island and St. Helena Island, SC there are a number of migrant camps where illegals pass through during various times of the year, mostly picking tomatoes and okra. Oh hell, I don't know what they pick, and don't really care. What's important is that the illegals are probably making their way to FL this time of year, migrating to where the work is and the warmer weather.
They also like to get drunk and commit crimes, but that's another story.

The victim in this case; Raphael Solano-Silverio, was drinking with a bunch of other migrant workers at one of their little encampments. Raphael got in to a scuffle with 3 other men and a full-fledged fight broke out. Other people at the camp broke up the fight, separating them, and Raphael went home.
I'm guessing that wasn't enough for the other 3 little illegal bastards, so they went to Raphael's home.

At 4:30 a.m., the 3 knuckleheads broke in to the victim's house, dragging him outside and brutally assaulting him. In the midst of this mob violence, the victim manages to get his hands on a machete. An awkward weapon, but effective nonetheless. The victim began swinging the machete at his attackers. One of the suspects got a nasty head wound and another had a finger sliced off. A slice and dice ...always good for some blood and gore.

Everyone had a little trip to the hospital and the Sheriff's dept. says that Raphael will not be charged with any crime, since it was purely an act of self defense. The other 3 were or will be charged with Burglary, Assault and mob violence.

Who knows if any or all of them are indeed illegal, but we can thank Obama for making it difficult to deport these useless pieces of shit.

Geraldo Lopez, 23

Geraldo Lopez here was one of the 3 attackers, but he managed to walk away with relatively minor inuries so he was the first to go to jail. The other 2 are still in the hospital. Guess who's paying for all that? Oh, yes. No wonder health insurance premiums and health care costs are rising exponentially. When Involved in a Traffic Accident.....

A 21 year old New Hampshire man didn't quite follow all the recommended steps.
After striking another vehicle, he got out of his vehicle and began pounding on the windows of the other car, scaring the woman driver. She remained in her locked car while he ranted on and she stayed on the phone with a 911 dispatcher.
This was not your basic, run of the mill fender-bender by any means.

Amazingly, there was no damage to the vehicles, but our nudist was arrested for driving under the influence, disorderly conduct and lewd behavior.
As any cop knows, arresting a naked person is kind of problematic. You see so much blood and guts in this occupation, but having to toss naked people in the back of your car and transport them is a gross feat. You have to go find a pair of pants for the stupid schmuck.

The Arrest of a Super Hero

Until recently, little was known about this masked crusader. Referred to as "The Guardian of Seattle" and leader of "The Rain City Superhero Movement," he patrols the mean streets, assisting law enforcement in preventing and deterring crime. Local law enforcement officials seem to have mixed feelings towards our superhero, known as "Phoenix Jones."

Phoenix Jones. Say it out loud. What does your mind conjure up? My mind conjures up an image of a few catty 'queens' bitching about a no talent cabaret singer.

Our superhero's phone booth is an obscure comic book store back room where he often emerges fully adorned in his superhero body suit, mask and all. His true identity kept secret by a select few. Our beloved superhero has a Facebook fan page where he's married and his wife is a fellow crime fighter, known as "Purple Reign." (Seen below) He frequently does foot patrols on the streets with his sidekicks, "Ghost" and "Pitch Black." They are all undeterred in their attempts to fight for truth, justice and the American way.

Sadly, Phoenix just got arrested for assault. The video of the alleged assault leaves some room for interpretation. It would seem that our crime fighter's intent was to break up what he thought was a fight. However, it turns out that this group may have been just one big drunken dance party. No one really knows yet, but the cops were not amused, arresting him and stripping him of his dignity. Yes, they took his mask and of course, all his crime fighting tools, revealing his true identity to some of the local street scum. Is that any way to treat a superhero? At least separate him from the general population and keep his real identity a secret. Will this be the end of our iconic crime fighters? No one knows yet. After all, these guardians of the streets accept no compensation for risking their lives...and for making a total fool of themselves in their grown up costumes.

About 4 months ago, some industrious and aspiring media journalists, compiled an investigative report that was printed in the Seattle Weekly News, titled "The Alleged Adventures of Phoenix Jones."

This was obviously a committed fact finding mission that was intended to peel back Jones' persona and determine what difference, if any, he has made in the Rainy city.

I took the 10 minutes to read the adventure story.

Case Law for the Castle Doctrine

As anyone that knows me will attest, I am an ardent supporter of the 2nd amendment and believe that the Castle Doctrine law was an awesome piece of work.
The law lays out in clear terms that you have no duty to retreat in your home, place of business, or car, and that you have the right to stand your ground and protect yourself and your property. It was developed primarily because of escalating violence and the need to protect innocent victims of violent crimes from being prosecuted for murder. The edict codifies the law as prohibiting any civil action against a person who must use deadly force in protection of themselves or their property.
So, this prohibits the stupid ass thug's family from suing me because I shot him while he was trying to carjack me, break in to my home, or rob my business. One has no duty to retreat in their auto as you have a legal right to be there to protect yourself and your property. Simple and very sound reasoning.

South Carolina is a Castle Doctrine and a Concealed Weapons Permit state.
In SC, you do not need a permit to own a gun or have a gun in your home, place of business or in a closed compartment of your car. You need a permit if you want to carry it on or about your person and concealed from public view, while in the normal wear of clothing.
Now if I was working a night job that required me to drive around in some not so nice 'hoods, I'd have a gun with me too. And remember, I don't need a permit if it's in a closed compartment, console or trunk.

Case in point...a man who owns his own auto towing company drives around at night doing repos and towing cars from various places for whatever reasons, has a gun with him.

Story goes that on Christmas Eve 2010, Preston Oates booted a minivan that was parked outside a home in a modest neighborhood with one of those hateful homeowner's associations. Supposedly, Oates was contracted to tow illegal cars from the subdivision. However, the HOA will not confirm or deny this claim and has refused to speak with the news media. The owner of the minivan, Carlos Alberto Olivera, and several of his friends confronted Oates about the booting. Oates told Olivera that he would remove the boot for $300.00.

A crowd of neighbors and family gathered around Oates and things began to escalate. Olivera allegedly showed the tow truck driver that he had a concealed weapon. (Olivera also had a concealed carry permit)
Oates states he returned to his truck by way of the driver's side and made some futile attempts to calm people down. He supposedly removed his .40 cal from the glove box and put it on the seat beside him as a precaution.
Oates claims he heard someone in the crowd speak of getting a shotgun and that he heard a weapon cocking. Things are a little fuzzy from this point, but Oates shot Olivera a total of 6 times. 4 times in the back, once in the head and once in the arm. Olivera never had a chance to pull his own weapon and in fact, his gun was found some 18 feet from where his body lay. It is highly possible that the gun was moved before police arrived.

Law enforcement arrived to the scene of the shooting and Oates immediately claimed self defense and that his life was in jeopardy. He was separated from the crowd by officers at the scene and was quoted as sarcastically saying, "Feliz Navidad" to the crowd.

It wasn't until several days later that the local Solicitor's office and law enforcement decided on a course of action.They did not see a claim of self defense. Interestingly enough, one of the neighbors had a surveillance camera outside their home and much of it was recorded. This information had not been released to the public and was recently presented during his preliminary hearing.
Even though Oates had no duty to retreat while in his car, (tow truck) legal minds rejected Oates' claim of self defense. He was subsequently charged with Manslaughter and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.

Oates was then incarcerated in the Beaufort County jail with no bond based on the Manslaughter charge.

In March of 2011, Oates must have gotten a bit stir crazy and tries to escape from jail. A corrections officer caught him attempting to cut a small window with a door face plate. He succeeded only in doing about $2000. worth of damage to the door. He's later charged with the damage to state property and attempted escape. He was moved to a higher security facility. Not the brightest bulb in the bunch, is he?

Let's compare some notes;

Olivera had a concealed weapon permit. He had taken an 8 hour gun safety course, passed both a written test and firearms qualifications test. His only criminal history was a seat belt violation, 1 moving violation and a city ordinance fine for having a junked vehicle in his yard.

Oates, on the other hand, has an interesting history. He was charged with Discharging a firearm in to a dwelling, assault and battery with intent to kill and, the manslaughter charge with the weapons violation, followed by damage to state property and attempted escape. The assault charge alone is enough to warrant or reject his eligibility for a permit. The discharging of a weapon is icing on the cake.
If he was convicted of the assault charge, classified as a violent crime, that would make him a convicted felon and he is prohibited under law from owning or possessing a firearm.

This is going to be an interesting precedent for the Castle Doctrine as Oates' attorney plans on using that as his primary defense. Shooting someone in the back just doesn't seem like self defense to me.

Just a Little Baby Daddy Mama Drama

Technology today is wondrous. We have made copious advances in the last 10 years alone that it just boggles the mind. These technological advances have often aided law enforcement in their duties, and on rare occasions, been their downfall. The use of facial recognition software and methods used by the TSA, and those other alphabetical agencies, has often laid questions to our privacy and the future of our Constitutional rights. When technology helps fight crime and close cases, law enforcement can't help feeling a little smug.

Police cars are outfitted with so many electronic devices these days, that it's almost an office on wheels.
You might never notice that police officer on patrol who could have a car equipped with a computerized software recognition system that can read license plates and detect if the car or the plate is stolen. Remember back in the day, when you had to get close enough to read the plate and then call someone on the radio to run it through the system for you? That procedure often wasted valuable time. The larger departments have budgets or obtain grant money that aids law enforcement with valuable tools such as this.

Imagine you're a uniformed officer on patrol in a very large urban area. Your computer is alerted to a stolen vehicle in the area and the screen displays the information right before your very eyes. Lo and behold, there he is. You turn around and start after him. Now the fun begins! If any cop tells you that they don't like a little adrenaline pump now and again is probably lying, or really, really lazy.

Well, the knucklehead driver sees you right away and panics. He pulls in to a driveway not far from where you first spotted him, flees on foot and abandons the car. Police officers approach the stolen vehicle only to find a 3 year old in the car who pulled a gun out of the car's console and showing it to the police officer says, "gun, gun." Oh yea, thugs are being trained younger and younger these days. Naturally, the officer was able to take possession of the gun without anyone getting hurt. It was also just a BB gun....but a gun nonetheless.
The officers now have a stolen vehicle and an abandoned 3 year old. The Dept. of Social Services is contacted to take the child into protective custody.

It's funny how word on the street travels so fast. Even when there weren't cell phones, word of anything involving the police managed to travel like wildfire. Now it's a matter of minutes and about 20 people, most likely cousins and baby daddies, are rushing to the scene of the crime and they don't hesitate to annoy and harass the police with all kinds of theatrics. The primary taunt is that the police is harassing and persecuting the black folk again....but never mind he just happens to be driving a stolen car with a 3 year old and a gun inside of it.

2 women arrive at the scene with a story about picking up the child for the mother. The mother allegedly told her 2 friends to go get her child after she had received a call from the guy who ditched the car and ran.
Cops make the mother come to the scene so they can speak with her. This freakin' moron

is not the baby daddy of the 3 year old, but Mama is pregnant and will soon have another baby from this baby Daddy. So the present baby daddy is going to jail for awhile. I'm betting that's where the other baby Daddy is.

Now this fine piece of shit here is charged with Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Unlawful Conduct Towards a Child and Possession of Marijuana (2nd offense). Magistrate Linda Lombard sets bail at a mere $25,000.00. This is the same Judge who set bail at $50,000. against a great-grandmother who left her 2 great grandchildren and a dog locked in a hot car for an hour while she went in to the Wal-Mart. The outside temperature that particular day hovered at 100 degs.

Myers was concerned only with himself and he flees the scene just so his punk ass won't get arrested. Well he did get arrested and I think Judge Lombard was being too generous with the bond amount.

The Drug Dealing Dispatcher

A Batesburg - Leesville police department dispatcher was arrested at police headquarters this past Monday for aiding suspected drug dealers.

Deputies and other officers from a multi-jurisdictional narcotics investigative task force, busted up a large cocaine ring in the Columbia, SC area, arresting 20 people for charges related to possession, and conspiracy to distribute large quantities of cocaine and crack.

This lovely beauty contestant winner was accused of texting law enforcement information to the alleged ringleader during their investigation. The ringleader, identified as one Antonio Williams, was.....wait for it.....already a convicted drug dealer.
Imagine that.

Batesburg-Leesville Police Chief Wallace Oswald said his department cooperated fully with the investigation. "This was clearly an isolated incident involving one employee whose poor decisions do not reflect the actions of all officers or dispatchers of the Batesburg-Leesville Police Department," said Oswald.

A Heinous Crime

William Oliver Dickerson, Jr.

has a lengthy criminal record that is peppered with violent crimes. For instance, in 1996 two police officers were attempting to serve an arrest warrant on him when he ran from them. During the pursuit, he produced a handgun from his waistband, pointing it at officers. He refused to drop the gun when ordered. The police officers each did a double tap on him and he was wounded in the shoulder and ear.
He was convicted of crimes related to this and the outstanding warrant.
Some ten years later, he's out of prison and back at it.

In March of 2006, a male acquaintance of Dickerson was found bludgeoned to death in an empty apartment of a government housing complex. Almost immediately, evidence pointed to him and an arrest warrant was issued. A BOLO was put out that this shit head was armed and potentially dangerous. Like the idiot he is, he never made any attempt to flee the area and police apprehended him 2 days later. Police were very tight lipped about the nature of the victim's injuries, other than to say he was badly beaten and tortured.

In 2009, Dickerson went on trial for Kidnapping, Murder and Criminal Sexual Assault. It was during his trial that the gruesome details of this heinous crime came to light.
Dickerson was on trial for kidnapping the victim and forcibly dragging him to an empty apartment. He tied him up with cords and began an 18 hour monstrous torture of the victim by burning him, cutting him over 200 times, knocking out his teeth, and then sodomized him with 2 objects before he finally strangled him to death.
It took only 2 hours for the jury to find him guilty on all counts and sentenced him to the death penalty.

Naturally, Dickerson's attorney appealed these findings and yesterday it was heard before the SC State Supreme Court. The highest court in the state upheld that conviction. The Justices state that "there was no indication that the proceedings were tainted in any way and that the sentence was anything other than a rational response to the evidence presented."
How long will it take for the actual execution, I wonder? Will His Holiness the Pope call at the 11th hour pleading for mercy? If you ask me, giving this pathetic excuse for a human being the needle, is almost too good for him.

It must be some kind of twisted gene in his family.....His father, William Oliver Dickerson, is serving a life sentence without parole for the beating death of an elderly woman.

This small municipality of 68,000 outside of Charleston, SC is noted for Patriots Point, the Cooper River Bridge Run and of course, the Cooper River Bridge itself. They boast mostly higher income residents and have some of the better schools in Charleston County...if that's possible. Their homicide rate is virtually non-existent. The local cops were often referred to as the "pretty police" back in the day. They didn't do much then, but looked good doing it. My, how things have changed in the last 10 years.
Every now and then they have a high profile incident or the cops piss off some hoity-toity who was breaking the law and the news media just plays it up. After all, it used to be a nice place to live.

When Wal-Mart announced they were going to build a new super center store in Mt. Pleasant, they had more opposition than you could imagine. The project was delayed for several years because the residents screamed it would be not only be "unattractive" at the proposed location, but it "would attract the wrong element."
It's been open only a couple of years now and the store generally just attracts some shoplifters and an occasional incident in the parking lot.

This time, it actually looks like the ghetto came to the hoity-toity Wal-Mart.

A 20 year old black male employee of the Wal-Mart was stabbed to death inside the front entrance. The suspect in the stabbing is a 19 year old acquaintance and no one has released information on what prompted the violence.
The thing that always amazes me is the drama and emotional outbursts that black women display in certain "theaters" where they have an audience. In fact, one of my favorite bloggers, Beat and Release, has aptly dubbed it "Shaniqua Theater."

If you pay attention to about the first 10 seconds of this video, you'll get some idea of what I'm talking about.
Then maybe someone can explain to me why they do this.

I now believe that the residents of Mt. Pleasant may have had the right idea....I am not a fan of Wally-world. Mainly because the clientele is often a scary sight and I really think that I've seen enough scary to last me a lifetime. Just go to the "People of Walmart" website and you'll understand my desire to stay away from that place. After a few minutes of viewing those peeps, you may consider poking your eyes out.

Local Sheriff Collides with School Bus

Sheriff George Malone, whom everyone suspects had been elected to office no doubt because this county is predominantly black and because he sang the tune the people wanted to hear. He was the first black elected as Sheriff in that county. Some might say he's not the brightest bulb in the batch and his leadership skills are a bit weak.

Suddenly, his county was over-whelmed with a number of drive by shootings. At the beginning, Sheriff Malone denied there was a problem in his county, believing it was just a coincidence and these shootings were random. People were being killed and he was in denial. Many of the people murdered were innocent victims, including young children.
After over a dozen shootings and deaths, he called in for back up, getting help from various agencies and initiating a heavy police presence in the areas where the shootings occurred. Oddly enough, most of the victims were killed in somewhat rural areas. After about a week, all the law enforcement cleared out and things settled down. It didn't last long. He still has open homicides.

Less than a year in to his term of office, he became the subject of an investigation of mismanaged funds. He misappropriated government grant money, believing he could spend it however he wanted.

One of his patrol officers was shot and killed in the line of duty, and many say he bumbled much of that investigation. Against the advice of his peers, he continually made statements to the media that not only made him look like an uninformed moron, but may have been detrimental to the investigation of this officer's murder.
A Sheriff from an adjoining county, who offered up as many resources as possible, was able to steer him on to the appropriate legal avenues. It took weeks before the 2 suspects were apprehended.

Then the fun stuff....his wife accused him of having an affair with his secretary and confronted the both of them one afternoon in the parking lot of a restaurant. His wife confronted the secretary stating she would "take her down." His secretary tried to walk away from the scene, but Mrs. Malone latched on to her car as she was driving away. She kept trying to assault the secretary through the open car window. The secretary started closing the window, hit a bump, and Mrs. Malone fell off. When she fell off, the car ran over her leg. Naturally, Mrs. Malone tells an entirely different story. This dramatic incident was investigated by the State Law Enforcement Division. That investigation went away after SLED concluded that the secretary acted in self defense and tried to retreat.

Now, it would appear that the Sheriff was in bit of a hurry when he tried to pass a row of cars on a 2 lane highway. As he's passing on the left, a school bus that was in the row of cars, attempts to make a legal left hand turn. The Sheriff crashed in to the side of the bus, injuring children that had to be taken to the hospital.
What the hell was he thinking?

Sheriff's serve for 8 year terms and he comes up for re-election in 2012.

Just 2 days ago, the NY State Dept. of Criminal Justice Services issued a child alert for 8 children, ranging in ages from 11 years to 11 months, that were abducted from 2 different foster homes. The abductors were the children's birth parents who no longer have legal custody.

According to information from unidentified sources, the children were removed from the parental home for both abuse from Daddy and neglect from Mommy. It was also reported that the children were living in deplorable conditions and there was no food in the home.

A foster care facility in Queens, NY had court ordered custody of the children and Shanel abducted the children during a "supervised visit." Sounds like someone's ass is in deep shit!

This is so typical of a government agency that has a duty to protect and act in the best interest of the children. These characteristic, and brainless child services agents did a seriously piss poor job of protecting these children from the very people who are accused of abusing and neglecting them.

The most moronic of this sadly, dysfunctional and sorry ass excuse for a family is that 7 of the 8 children are boys with the same name. Oh yea, Nephra Payne is a narcissist or he's trying to show George Foreman he's a better man. Who the hell knows. The unfortunate part is that these kids don't stand a chance.

If the parents didn't want them to begin with, why go through all the trouble to kidnap them and flee the state? Now the feds are involved and they are possibly headed to South Carolina. Law enforcement officials speculate that since Shanel has some family connections in the southeast part of SC, they may be in the area.

Depending on what news source you read, the happy little family could be traveling in any number of vehicles described as a Chevy Suburban, a Ford SUV or an Infiniti.

The Case of the Dumb Deputy

Earlier this month, a Deputy Sheriff from Fairfield Co., was in a training class that required an equipment inventory of his tactical gear. This 3 year veteran of the force told his Capt. that his department issued M-4 rifle with spare magazines and ammo, a Remington .870 shotgun, and a full bio-hazard equipment bag were all missing.

Naturally, an investigation was launched. Having some occasional missing gear is one thing, but when there are weapons involved, it becomes an extremely serious matter.

Deputy Brandon Belton, 24,

wasn't very cooperative in his explanation of the whys and hows of his missing equipment and firearms. Mainly because he couldn't decide on a story. The SC State Law Enforcement Division got involved in the investigation and they too, got the run around. Belton was changing his story on a regular basis.
Where are the guns? Law enforcement personnel have no clues as of yet.

Needless to say, former Deputy Belton was terminated and then promptly arrested for Misconduct in Office and Breach of Trust. If he sold that equipment for cash, like everyone suspects, I hope it was worth it. The total value of those things is approximately $2500.00.

Fairfield County and Crimestoppers are both offering rewards for information leading to the recovery of the weapons.

As any regular reader here knows, I'm a fan of the freakin' odd crime news. Not that there's any lack of it, it's that some stupid shit doesn't inspire me enough to blog about it. I find that on some rare occasions, I laugh so hard my mind just goes blank from the hilarity. Then, there's those other times that leave me speechless. You know what I mean. Those silent moments you just shake your head in disbelief.

We can all attest to this...some of the best weird shit comes out of the projects or the ghetto. So much stupid all in one place often makes for great comedy. Others may not see it, and you've probably heard all the drama and bullshit a hundred times before. But if you let it, it will eat at you and wear you down. That's why we have our own customized defense mechanisms. Sick ass cop humor helps eliminate the drudgery and bullshit you put up with each and every day. An old Irish beat cop (my hero) once told me that, "Life is a comedy of errors. We fix da errors." More profound words were never spoken. I also learned from him the artful use of a roll of quarters and that sometimes, it's worth losing 10 bucks. But alas, those were the days.....

Quite often, street names, nicknames or monikers just attach themselves to people - even if they're unwanted.
We've all had some local nut cases, drug dealers, prostitutes, and homeless that all have been branded with something people have labeled them, or things cops have made up along the way. After all, we cops do love our improvisational thea-tah.

In this particular case, it's Friday night in da projects....

Our victim, one Thomas Tony Shine, 21, was found shot and killed in his apartment. Minutes before his death, he tells a friend that 2 guys looked like they wanted to harm him. He told his friend that it was both "Cross-eyed Donnie" and _______(first name given, but as of yet, unidentified).
The suspects were last seen leaving the projects on beach cruiser bicycles. (Admit it...you're laughing) I had to ask myself, "What? No Caddy with tinted windows and spinners?"

According to the article, when "Cross-Eyed Donnie" gets ascared, his eyes get a crossed.

A Toe Suckin' Fool

I've come across some strange things in my career, including auto erotic asphyxiation, transvestites, necrophilia, peeping toms and voyeurs. I can't say that I've ever had the fortune to come face to face with someone with a glorified foot fetish. I did respond to a residence once and it was clear the occupant collected women's shoes, but I really had no desire to know why he had a closet-full of women's high heels. I just know it wasn't pertinent to the reason I was there. Of course, information like that doesn't stay quiet long. I think I might have told a few other cops that night and well, by the next day, I'm sure over 100 cops knew that we had a local male politician who had a superb collection of women's shoes. He was single and lived alone. For a long time after that, I had a very difficult time looking him in the eye without snickering under my breath. Ah, but that was a long time ago. He was not re-elected and I don't recall where he went.

It was an interesting coincidence that about this time, the town of Conway, Arkansas was experiencing a serial toe sucker, dubbed the "Toe Sucking Fairy." Michael Robert Wyatt was arrested in 1989 for pretending to be a Podiatrist and was also camping out at a clothing store, trolling for feet. He was arrested again in 1991 for telling a convenience store clerk that he wanted to cut off her feet, and suck her toes while she bled to death. He went to prison for a few years on that one. In 1999, he was arrested yet again for asking a woman at Wal-Mart if she wanted her feet amputated and if he could show her pictures of women with no feet.

Here we are, 20 years later and Conway police have this problem again.

An 83 year old woman who was sitting on the porch minding her own business, when a man approached her, told her she had lovely feet, took off her shoe and began sucking her toes. He then asked if he could kiss her and when she said no and told him he was crazy, he fled.
A day later, a woman was approached by a man who told her he had a foot fetish, her toes were long and succulent, and wanted to know if he could suck on them. The woman's cell phone rang and he retreated. Funny, the only thing she seems to remember about him is the fact that he had "messed up toes."
Cops have ruled out the "Toe Sucking Fairy" as a suspect in these crimes.

Pennsylvania and Minnesota have also experienced serial toe suckers, but they're ruled out those suspects as well.

In researching foot fetishism, Wikipedia gave characterizations, definitions, etc. and listed several famous people who were known foot worshippers. Have you ever learned something that you wish you hadn't?

America's Most Wanted Bounces Back

For over 20 years, the Fox Network aired America's Most Wanted every Saturday evening. John Walsh's show and reputation earned him the respect and admiration of law enforcement officers and agencies everywhere.
His weekly show highlighted some of America's worst criminal offenders that were wanted by local, state and federal agencies. Without the help of AMW airing details of many of the open criminal cases and law breakers, then over 1100 of society's dregs, (ie; child molesters, murderers, rapists, etc.), would not have been apprehended.

In May of this year, the Fox Network announced that it would not be renewing the contract for any further shows, citing the expense of production costs. Never mind that millions tuned in each week and that AMW once saved the floundering network from extinction. Such loyalty is touching.

Several weeks after this announcement, the Lifetime Channel approached John Walsh and negotiations began. The announcement was made official last week. The 25th year of America's Most Wanted is expected to return by the end of the year thanks to the courtesy of the Lifetime Channel.

On a positive coincidence.... yesterday, the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences gave Walsh its Governor's Award, which is awarded to a person or organization that makes a substantial impact or demonstrates an extraordinary use of television.
An Emmy Award. Certainly a long time coming.

This 34 year old, fine specimen of a crack head, who has a face only a mother could love, and a name to match, just planned out his retirement. He is officially another statistic in the world of 18-40 year old black males.

In July of this year, ole' Que-Tee here had a mission. He was determined to track down and take care of his former girlfriend's new on-line paramour. Marshall found out that her new beau lived in Walterboro, SC so he traveled from Kershaw County, SC, some 300 miles, to confront and then eliminate the competition.

Marshall stole a gun from his uncle. Took a bus from Camden SC to Walterboro, then walked for miles to the Keegan Rd. address, searching for the 35 year old who stole his beloved girlfriend.

Once he arrived, he found that there were 2 other males in the home, both teenagers who assumed Marshall was a friend of their older brother, so they let him in to the house. This is where Marshall began shooting. He shot the 15 year old in the head, fatally wounding him and grazed the 17 year old with a shot in the neck. He ran out of ammo and fled the residence. After a massive manhunt, he was apprehended hours later.

Fast forward less than 3 months -

Marshall chose to save the taxpayers a whole lot of money by pleading guilty to the charges of Murder, Attempted Murder, and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Violent Crime. For his generous contribution to society, he got life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Sometimes these morons do use their brains.

On July 5, 2011, Police Chief Franco Fudo, of the small, podunk town of Bonneau, SC, wrote one 68 year old Virginia Tice a traffic ticket to the tune of $445.00.
He wrote her a ticket for an offense that has been on the books since the early 90's, but has not been used since about 2006. In 2006, and somewhere in the upstate of SC, an enterprising, and no doubt bored, small town cop wrote a man up for the same traffic offense. By the time it got to court, the ACLU had made some waves and the presiding judge dismissed the case. It hasn't been used since. In fact, most "real" police departments tend to shy away from that obsolete and controversial law because....well, they have better things to do.

Wondering what could be so controversial?

Under SC Code of Laws 56-5-3885

"A sticker, decal, emblem, or device is indecent when taken as a whole, it describes, in a patently offensive way, as determined by contemporary community standards, sexual acts, excretory functions, or parts of the human body.

What did she do that was so shameful and indecent?

She had a set of red "Truck Nutz" hanging from the rear bumper of her pick up truck. Chief Fuda thought a red plastic replica of a bull's sex organs (they are also often referred to as Bulls Balls) was "obscene," and by his own authority, declared himself the Chief of the Morality Police. I am concerned with the Chief's interpretation of that law. If the human body is red, plastic, and the size of bulls balls, then the Chief is quite delusional.

When Ms. Tice's son was interviewed for the local newspaper, he stated that his Mother planned on asking for a jury trial. This case caught the attention of a local, and rather prestigious, criminal law firm in downtown Charleston, SC and they offered to represent Ms. Tice pro bono. The attorney for the Savage Law Firm contacted the court on the date of the hearing to ask for a jury trial, only to discover that Chief Fuda has already asked for a jury trial. "Unprecedented and unheard of" were the words from the mouth of the attorney. One wonders how a defendant's rights can be circumvented in such a manner. Then again, if you happen to google Chief Fuda's name, you will find he has a history of doing controversial things that don't take into account the meaning of "civil rights" and "due process." Many people wonder how and why he's still a cop. Did I happen to mention he's married to the town Mayor's daughter? Ah, but that's another story.

The jury trial was scheduled for Wednesday, Sept 21, but the attorney had to ask for a continuance due to conflicting court dates. According to a local news source, the attorney's attempts to get the case dismissed have been unsuccessful. It appears Fuda isn't budging on this one. The court date is now set for Nov. 2.
Ah, the wheels of justice turn ever so slowly....

--As a note, my research showed that "Truck Nutz" or "Bulls Balls" are legal in...well, at least 49 other states.

Are You Ready for Some Stupid?

A 59 year old Moncks Corner, SC man made a series of stupid mistakes on Sunday, September 11 and it just might be a day he'll never forget.

Leroy McKelvey

First, he takes a trip up north to Jersey to attend a NY Jets - Dallas Cowboys game.....wearing a Cowboys jersey in Jets territory. Not the smartest thing to do, but you probably won't get your ass kicked too badly.

Second, he brings a stun gun to Jersey. While not illegal to own or possess in his home state, he should have done his homework. It's illegal as hell in New York and New Jersey. Not to mention the fact that he's wearing it concealed upon his person. He actually gets past a security checkpoint of a major league football game carrying the thing. It is, after all, Sept. 11, the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks and security is supposed to be tightened due to "credible threats." Big "Ooops!" there.

Third mistake - "Please Stand for the National Anthem" means just what it says. If you physically can't stand, that's one thing, but to refuse to take your hat off or shut the fuck up, that's a whole other ball game.
Because it was Sept. 11, additional remembrance ceremonies were taking place at the stadium that dictated some quiet dignity and respect be afforded. You know the concept....kind of like church or a courtroom. Shut the hell up and behave yourself! McKelvey and his wife/fiancee/girlfriend, whatever...just kept chatting through all the ceremonies, and this seemed to anger a few people around them. Very disrespectful, if you ask me.

Fourth Mistake - Pissin' off the Marines. Seems some of the other patrons near Mr. McKelvey were Marines and they were clearly annoyed by his unpatriotic displays and lack of manners. While a good Marine always shows his loyalty and patriotism appropriately, word has it that one Marine may have pushed the envelope a tad too far, acting a bit Un-Marine-like in his taunting of McKelvey. McKelvey, and another unidentified witness, claim that the Marine refused to move to let McKelvey pass by for a trip to the Men's room. Words were exchanged and then McKelvey decided to whip out the old stun gun and go to town. A free for all broke out. 2 people, including one Marine, were hit with the stun gun.

In today's world of advanced technology, several people took videos and photos , and well....you made the big league news, jackass! You are hereby crowned, "Extremely Fuckin' Stupid."

McKelvey is arrested and charged with 3 counts of assault and 2 weapons charges. His bail was set at $22,500. No one else got arrested. Imagine that.

Now, McKelvey has people speaking on his behalf and they're making excuses for him. His girlfriend/fiancee/ or whatever word they use these days to say they're living together, was quoted in one news source as trying to excuse their actions because they both have medical conditions that prohibit them from standing. She blabbered on about how awful it was, and she was hurt in the melee....blah, blah, whine, whine.

Turns out, McKelvey's son is one noted New York DJ called "Charlamagne, Tha God of the Breakfast Club." (Whatever the hell that means.) He told the Daily News in NY that not only was his Father acting in self defense, but he didn't stand for the National Anthem because he's a Jehovah's Witness. (I think they need to get their story straight.) I knew a JW once who wouldn't do the "pledge" but was respectful enough to stand in silence, not loudly gabbing through somber ceremonies. "Charlamagne" also states that his Father brought the stun gun because Jets Coach, Rex Ryan jokingly told him that he probably shouldn't wear Cowboys stuff in the Jets' house. Oh, come on!

How many people is McKelvey going to blame for his own stupidity? No wonder our children today are fat, dumb and "entitled." They get it from their fat, dumb and entitled parents. Ignorance of the law is no excuse, McKelvey and, had you been a bit more adult in your actions, this never would have happened. I suppose you're going to call the White House and scream racism and tell them your civil rights were violated?

I bet if a bunch of white folk went in to his church and started talking loudly and sitting through all of their ceremonies, there just might be some pissed off people. By not even closing his mouth, he managed to insult so many people on so many levels. His worthless ass deserves to go to jail.
I wonder if this man is going to turn in to some kind of cult hero with his peeps for being such a bad mannered barbarian? He blames the coach, the security, the fans....everyone but himself. He doesn't want the world to "make me out to be a criminal." No, the world didn't do it, Leroy. You did it all by yourself.

If you read the comments section of McKelvey's local area newspaper, you'll see he's not getting much sympathy at home either.

Officer Randy Price, who has been on administrative leave since May of 2011, has been officially laid off by the town of Cottageville due to budgetary constraints. The Mayor and town council voted tonight to relieve him of his duties, cutting the police department down to 2 full time officers for this small town of approximately 800.
Mayor Margaret Steen has made it clear that his termination is not a direct result of the continuing investigation of Randy Price's shooting of former mayor Bert Reeves.

As a recap......

In the afternoon of May 16, Cottageville Police Officer Randy Price put out an officer needs assistance call on his radio. The Police Chief was nearby and was the first to respond. Police Chief John Craddock, arrived to find that Officer Randy Price had shot and killed the town's rather controversial former mayor, Bert Reeves, with one gunshot wound to the chest. The incident happened on a short dirt road and there were no witnesses.

As with all officer involved shootings, the State Law Enforcement Division is called in to investigate the case. SLED long ago conducted their investigation and turned their findings over to the state attorney's office. The State Attorney in turn wrote a letter to the FBI, that read in part..."due to the unique complexities of this case....we request a federal investigation." The FBI is still doing their thing and has no comment on the matter.

Where Randy Price will go from here is anyone's guess. He has a history of being a "Gypsy Cop" and has been forced to leave one department after another.

In 1999, Price was fired from the McCormick Co. Sheriff's Office for unsafe driving.
In 2000, Price was terminated from the Wagener Police Dept. for Insubordination.
In 2001, he was fired from the Aiken County Sheriff's Dept for Criminal Domestic Violence. Records indicate he was allowed to go through a pre-trial intervention program to have the charge wiped from his record.
In 2006, he was terminated from the Blackville Police Dept. for complaints of excessive force.
In 2008, he is hired by the Cottageville Police Dept.

Under relatively new regulations the SC Criminal Justice Academy initiated several years ago, all this information about a police officer is public. Every department is required to submit documentation of a police officer's reasons for separation. The Academy, in their discretion, has the ultimate authority to suspend a police officer's law enforcement certification, which could prevent them from ever working as a law enforcement officer anywhere in the state.

As for former Mayor Bert Reeves.....his past isn't so pristine either.
A former Cottageville police officer had Reeves on tape telling him his job depended on him writing more speeding tickets.
As Mayor, Reeves was once ticketed for driving 105 mph in a 55 mph zone.
He was caught again speeding excessively by a Sheriff's Deputy who let him off with a warning because he didn't want to get entangled in the politics.
Excessive speed was a factor in causing him to crash and over turn his pick up truck. He suffered a severe head injury and was hospitalized for a period of time. The State police were charging him with DUI, but he insists he wasn't drinking. Blood tests later determined he tested positive for marijuana. The DUI charge was dismissed, but the stigma attached itself.
The positive drug test elicited a negative response from the citizenry of Cottageville. Due to the intense pressure from the citizens and council, who often questioned his decision making capabilities since the severe brain injury, Reeves resigned as Mayor.
Approximately a month or so before the shooting, it is said that Reeves and Price exchanged words because Price had written a ticket to an employee of Reeves'. Price wasn't backing down on the charge, and that pissed off Reeves. Rumors abound now, with some saying that Price was intimidating Reeves as he once told his attorney he feared for his safety.

Those that once pressured Reeves out of office have now switched sides, steadfastly believing that Reeves was murdered. Many people wonder how and why a police officer would shoot and kill an unarmed man. The answers to those questions may never be known.

It's 4 months later and the mystery still abounds....

It takes a special kind of man to put on a dress. It takes a lot of balls for a man to put on a dress, walk in to a jewelry store, and then pull out a gun and demand money.

Domenique Lemond Lee Fortenberry

That's exactly what 20 year old Domenique Fortenberry did. He pointed a gun at the store owner and demanded money. The store owner, Mr. Bradberry, pulled out a gun of his own. They then shot each other. In fact, several shots were exchanged.

Wounded in the face, the suspect fled the store, discarding his disguise (or was it?) in the process. Police were called and K-9 units searched the area, following the trail of blood. The suspect was later apprehended after he had been taken to the hospital where he is being treated for his gunshot wound. He is under guard and once released, he will be charged with several felonies.

The store owner's son, Keith Bradberry, states his father was treated and released from the hospital for a minor wound to his arm. He cites his father as a hero, knowing full well that if he hadn't shot the suspect, they would both probably be dead.

The store owner will not be charged as he was lawfully defending himself during the commission of a dangerous felony.

Sorry the store owner took a hit, and not so sorry that Domenique Dingleberry there is still walking.

UPDATE: A female accomplice was later arrested in relation to this case. She was driving the getaway vehicle and drove Fortenberry to the hospital.

A Tale of Injustice

In April of 2010, Peggy Kandies was staying at a friend's trailer in a mobile home park, when one illegal Mexican scumbag by the name of Frederico Reyes, burst into the trailer.

After forcing himself in to the residence, he jumped on top of Ms. Kandies, attempting to sexually assault her. He head butted her, leaving a large contusion on her forehead and also bit her on the lip, leaving a distinct bite mark. Many years before, Ms. Kandies was trained in Ju Jitsu and remembering her training, fought off her attacker. Reyes was caught a short time later and arrested.

It's from this point on that the system failed this feisty middle aged woman. Starting with the initial police investigation, to the final prosecution of the defendant, the criminal justice system seemed to do nothing but favor the rights of a pervert who was in this country illegally.

This article lays out in great detail, the incident and subsequent complications she endured in her battle to get justice. The saddest part of all this is that Ms. Kandies has had little to no cooperation from the local solicitor's office. They refuse to even speak with her anymore and she suspects because she had the audacity to point out that under the SC Victim's Bill of Rights, her rights were violated on several points.
Additionally, because the defendant was allowed to plead to a lesser charge, all without considering her input, the defendant's indictment subsequently labeled him as a "non-violent" offender. Which is not only a direct contradiction of the physical evidence, but is also an insult to the victim. The only consolation was that Reyes was put on the Sex Offender Registry.

Ms. Kandies recently found out on her own that Reyes is coming up for a parole hearing. Yes, unbelievably, Reyes has been in jail only 8 months of a 5 year sentence. The parole hearing is scheduled this week in Columbia, SC. An on line petition is being circulated to keep this pervert in jail where he belongs. Please sign the petition and show support to the victim's rights and to get our legislators off their fat asses and address this illegal immigration problem.

On Sept. 10, Patsourakos and his wife will travel to the Philadelphia area to accept the first ever Law Enforcement Cross from the American First Responder Institute Heraldry's inaugural fund raising event titled, "An Evening with Heroes."

The First Responder Institute Heraldry Facebook page extols itself as the first of its kind in recognizing first responders; "The American First Responder Institute of Heraldry recognizes the service and sacrifice of American First Responders. A Murder Mystery

FROM THE COLD CASE FILES:

In 1969, a Charleston, SC based sailor was shot 5 times and his body was discovered by his wife in the bedroom of their apartment. The murder was never solved and the lone suspect in the case was a Charleston County Police Officer (now known as the Charleston County Sheriff's Dept.)

There was little evidence available to support their claims but they hounded him nonetheless. State and local authorities knew in their gut that he was the shooter. He had a mean temper, was reputed to have mob ties and may have even executed people for money. Leonard Crowe intimidated people, even his fellow officers.

Crowe left law enforcement and moved to Oklahoma where he was later labeled as a suspect in a shooting there. The cold case files of the Charleston Police Dept. has re-opened this murder with the hope's of obtaining some kind of closure for the family of Sailor Danny Kelly.

The author of this expose' deserves some credit for detailing this murder mystery in a respectful and rather absorbing manner. I read the article and was quite intrigued. See for yourself.

FL Officer in Critical Condition after Responding to Domestic

Police officer Stacy Booth (inset) responded to a 911 call from children who stated their parents were arguing. The children hung up on the 911 operator before she could get further info.

As Officer Booth approached the front door of the residence, unbeknownst to her, Michael Wayne Lester lurked behind the door with automatic weapons and over 1000 rounds of ammo. Lester fired through the front door, striking Officer Booth 2 times, once in the abdomen and another in the arm. Reportedly, a 3rd shot hit her holster and disabled her duty weapon. However, only one news source seems to have that information.

Bleeding profusely, she dragged herself next door where the neighbors gave her cover until assistance could arrive. Half dozen jurisdictions and over 20 units responded to the call. A hostage negotiator was called in and this piece of shit,

would not negotiate or listen to reason. Since he was barricaded and had an ample supply of weapons and ammo, the tactical team first set off tear gas canisters in his home and then used a fire department robot to storm the house. Lester was unconscious when SWAT went in.
Police are unsure how he received those lacerations on his face. Like they care, I'm sure.

Officer Booth remains in critical but stable condition.
Our thoughts are with her on a speedy recovery.

Ultimate Contempt of Court

Justice is Sweet

Back in June of 2010, an Army Specialist who had just returned from the Middle East, was traveling with his wife and mother-in-law down I-95, around midnight, and in 2 different vehicles. One of the vehicles that was towing a U-haul, was experiencing some mechanical problems. They pulled off the exit for McLeod Rd. in Walterboro, SC and began the business of transferring the U-haul from one vehicle to another.

They were approached by 3 black males (surprised?) driving a silver sedan. One of the suspects stepped out from the back seat of the vehicle, pulled a scarf up over his face and pointed a .50 cal Desert Eagle at the Mother-in-law, ordering her about, all the while referring to her as "pretty lady." The unidentified Army Specialist repeatedly asked the 3 suspects to leave, but they ignored him.
The Mother-in-law was naturally upset and ran towards her daughter. That's when the Army Spec. took the opportunity to produce his own weapon, pointing it at the suspects and demanding they drop their weapon. Because the suspect aimed his weapon towards his family, our Army hero began firing. The suspect,

David Jayquon Jakes, age 20

was shot and then dropped the .50 cal as he fell. His 2 cohorts in the crime, grabbed Jakes and dragged him back in to the car and then began firing at the 3 citizens as they drove away. Fortunately, the only bullet holes were in the cars. The .50 cal was later determined to be stolen.

The manhunt ensued and a short time later, Jakes shows up at a medical center seeking treatment for severe gunshot wounds. In fact, he was transferred to a trauma center as he was in critical condition. (Ah...don't ya feel a twinge of sympathy for the bastard?)

Once the local law enforcement personnel were able to identify the other 2 scumbags, warrants were obtained and the suspects were all arrested for charges of Armed Robbery (3x), Possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, Possession of stolen property, and 1st deg. Assault and Battery (3x).

Yesterday, 2 of the 3 suspects were found guilty and sentenced.

Antwan McMillan, age 22

McMillan, this sorry ass excuse for a human being, was sentenced to 30 years in prison and Jakes got 35 years for being the biggest moron with the stolen gun.
The case against the 3rd defendant, 21 year old James Davis, is still pending.

The Army Specialist's identity and his family's have been withheld from the public for undisclosed reasons.

The service member had a valid concealed weapons permit and, under South Carolina state law, he was acting properly under the self-defense and defense of others rule.

The Game's Afoot

For the 11th time in the past 4 years, Canadian law enforcement authorities have found the remains of a human foot floating in Canadian waterways. The latest discovery was from False Creek, Vancouver, BC. This found foot, with part of the leg bone still attached, was adorned in a running shoe, as were the other 10.

Sadly, the loss of a body part is probably not a laughing matter but, while I was reading the news statement surrounding this particular enigma, it brought out one of those snorts that your kid has while drinking milk. Except mine was a waste of good alcohol.
I know you all know what I'm talking about.
The CNN statement actually printed these words, "foul play is not suspected...as the remains have no visible signs of trauma."

In another article, it makes mention of the fact that law enforcement -or some other similar entity- finds this foot fiasco mysterious, but once again, latches on to the "no evidence of foul play" aspect. A respected forensics expert disagrees. Get out! Ya think? 11 floating feet is NO coincidence and somewhere in the midst of all this, a crime has certainly been committed. "The game is afoot!" No shit, Sherlock!

Only a few of the furtive feet have been identified as being from reported missing persons. As for the rest, well it's a mystery the likes of Sherlock Holmes has never seen!

I will not begin to second guess the Canadian authorities on how to conduct their investigation, but this consultant has a few ideas and theories.

Irene's Amazing Stupidity

I am often amazed at the stupidity of people during a natural disaster. It's always great to see people keeping their sense of humor during stressful and catastrophic situations. It shines an amusing light in to a dark atmosphere. It takes away the dread of the unknown.
But we know that there's a line between humor and lack of sensibility. When there is a state of emergency declared in your city, town or county, it is the responsible adult thing to heed the advice of the professionals. For instance, a Category 1 or 2 hurricane dictates that you should seek shelter and make appropriate arrangements to sustain yourself. Some people like to gather with friends and have hurricane parties. While I am not opposed to alcohol in most forms, you get a bunch of 20 somethings together during a storm, the inevitable happens....TRUTH or DARE.

The Weather Channel people clearly amaze me. I hope they get paid well to stand in the middle of a blinding snow storm freezing their asses off or, as in this case, getting blown around like a rag doll in the midst of a 40 mile an hour wind gust with a sharp rain pounding at them. I sometimes wonder if they think the world doesn't believe them so they have to document it on national TV.

In this video from Virginia Beach, VA, Eric Fisher of TWC, demonstrates his occupational hazards. He also documents that there are incredibly stupid people driving around in rather precarious weather. Then, there are the 20 something morons running amok, half naked through the storm. Watch carefully. You know they weren't completely sober.

He's discovered an unknown substance that the wind blows in from the ocean. He even tastes it. Not on purpose, I'm sure.
It practically buries him in it, and well, I say he deserves a bonus. It's pretty nasty looking.

As all these weather geeks like to tell us, these hurricanes can really churn up the sea, causing dangerous tides, rip currents, beach erosion, and 40 foot waves (depending on the fierceness of the storm). This is why they evacuate the coastal areas. They flood. DAH!
Even if there's only a tropical storm, it is not in your best interest to be anywhere near the sea. It's unpredictable and dangerous. Why are there always morons who want to walk out on to a dock and get up close and personal? The waves are often times so strong that it disintegrates docks, washing them out to sea. Imagine what it could do to you? More than a dozen brain dead people in Florida do exactly what you're not supposed to do and pay the price.

Having been there more often than I care to note, I highly recommend going at least 30 miles inlet, load up on supplies, including alcoholic refreshments, and be prepared to live without electricity for a period of time. This is where a gas grill is very useful. Depending on your needs, a generator can be quite the lifesaver. Remember to get enough gas. You will suddenly get to know your neighbors and the barter system reinvents itself.
Lastly, I really think people should listen to these weather geeks. They may be on to something.

The Scorpions

Your patience will be stretched to its utmost and people will just assume that police, fire trucks and EMS will roll out in the middle of a hurricane to help them. As much as you'd like to throw more than caution to the wind to jump in and help, you must wait for the storm to pass. Waiting is nerve-racking. You're on edge and your adrenaline is pumping. There will be so much to do after the storm. Long hours of helping others, forsaking your own family and property. Personal hygiene may take a back seat while you grab 4 hours of sleep any where that you can between those 12-16 hour shifts. Shower and shave? In cold water? Experience the thrill. No air-conditioning? You turn on the patrol car AC full blast just for a few minutes of respite....and you let people get in the car with you.

People are running on an emotional roller coaster and turning to you, expecting miracles. You can only offer comfort and words of understanding while you move on to the next problem. There is no time for your emotions to get in the way.

RIDERS ON THE STORM

The Doors

If you're on the coast, the water will be your biggest enemy. As much as you'd like to shoot those greedy looters, you will have other priorities. You will think like a Marine. "Improvise. Overcome. Adapt."
Some policies and procedures will go out the window in an effort to save lives. If you have National Guard assigned to your area, make friends fast. They're there to help you and they have bigger and better toys....er, tools!
If you have law enforcement or other emergency services personnel coming from other jurisdictions to help you, be grateful. Those that volunteer are generally those that have been in your shoes before.

You will notice that the majority of civilians want to help. They will shake your hand, hug you, lean on you, seek your guidance and leadership. Sometimes, though, their over-zealousness may hinder more than aid.
Try not to discipline, but rather, point them in the right direction. All help is appreciated.

Marshall Law may be declared by your governor. In the pitch black darkness of night, you will probably never see so many armed homeowners guarding what's left of their property from the looters and vultures. If you have some draconian gun laws in your state, there comes a time when you must turn a blind eye. Just imagine if you were in their shoes.

People will actually be glad to see you. Enjoy it while you can. They will feed you and hand you drinks. If they don't need it, go ahead and take it. You may come across someone who may need it more than you. People want to help, no matter how small the contribution. And, you may find yourself stranded somewhere for awhile.

Long lines for gas, ice, water and food will form. Emotions will run high and people will bicker. You will feel like a referee and a babysitter. Your patience starts to wear thin.

Do I speak from experience? Yes, 2 hurricanes. I will never forget what I saw and felt and neither will you.

Lone off duty Cop Apprehends Escapee

ESCAPEE ON THE RUN

New details have been released concerning the escape, 3 day manhunt, and then the subsequent apprehension of Perry Sullivan.

Sullivan who was already in custody in GA on a burglary charge, was being transported by a Stephens Co., GA Sheriff's Deputy to and from Colleton County, SC. While on the return trip to GA, Sullivan managed to slip out of his handcuffs then convinced the transporting officer to stop so he could be sick. He assaulted the deputy and a struggle ensued.
Luckily, a citizen was watching the whole incident and he grabbed a deer rifle. He lined up his sight and yelled at Sullivan to surrender. Sullivan threw the Deputy on the ground and stole his patrol car which contained both a shotgun and .40 cal semi-auto pistol. This citizen was able to get a shot off at the escaping patrol car, believing he hit the gas tank.

The whole incident started near a convenience store, and then almost 3 days later, Sullivan had double backed to the same location from where he escaped. Guess he got lost. This time, he enters the convenience store and armed with the deputy's .40 cal., holds several people at gunpoint, steals some food and a car belonging to one of the customers.

Cpl. Joe Patsourakos

Cpl. Joe Patsourakos of the Williston Police Dept., was in the area teaching a class. He had his portable radio scanner with him, and heard the BOLO about Sullivan's robbery and theft of a blue SUV. He left his class and set up a roadblock with his own personal vehicle, essentially lying in wait for Sullivan. The escapee drove straight in to Cpl. Patsourakos' trap. Once Sullivan experienced a sight laser in his face, he stopped the car, exited, and surrendered without incident.
Cpl. Patsourakos had single-handedly captured an armed and dangerous felon who was on the run for almost 3 days.
NICE WORK!

After his escape, Sullivan was labeled a flight risk and was temporarily housed in a maximum security facility pending his arraignment. Today, Sullivan was arraigned on 29 criminal charges stemming from this incident. They include; Felony Escape, Assault & Battery on a Police Officer, Kidnapping, Grand Larceny of a Motor Vehicle (2 x), Armed Robbery, and assorted other charges.

Bath Salts: The New Drug

They may be a soothing way to relax when dropped in to a hot bath, but they're also a dangerous stimulant that is sending people in to violent psychotic episodes. In reality, they are 2 separate products and the sale of this concoction is not illegal. It is not illegal by the simple addition of a label that states, "not for human consumption" and also because there are no regulations in place that outlaw the combination of the ingredients.

These bath salts are available by such names as Vanilla Sky, Pure Ivory, Ivory Wave, and Loco-Motion, and they are not illegal in most states. They can easily be purchased over the internet. Convenience stores and truck stops everywhere sell them for less than $20. and you don't need an ID to purchase them like you do for a bottle of cough syrup. You can snort it, smoke it or mix it with water and drink it.

Medical professionals and law enforcement officials report that the symptoms of bath salt use are similar to PCP, LSD, Cocaine and Meth, all combined. Large doses of sedatives, such as Valium, have had little to no effect in calming down a user.

Emergency room physicians warn of the dangers of bath salt abuse inducing such problems as; excessively high blood pressure, elevated heart rate and body temperature, hallucinations that ultimately disconnect them from reality, and violence so strong that it may require many people to subdue one individual. The paranoia and delusional effects sometimes last for months and brain damage is possible, but there haven't been enough tests to determine the long term effects on humans. Doctors quite often don't know that bath salts are the actual cause of these problems unless the user admits they ingested it.

Examples of the bizarre and psychotic episodes include; one man in Indiana climbed a flag pole and jumped in to traffic. In Pennsylvania, a man broke in to a monastery and stabbed a priest. A woman in W. Virginia scratched herself to pieces over the course of several days because she thought something was under her skin.

If you've had dealings with this drug and its effects, pressure legislators to not only ban their sale, but to follow through on testing and to initiate a full FDA investigation. I know, the reality of a government investigation occurring in this century is probably slim, but the federal government needs to step in to label them as an illegal substance or a Schedule I drug.
It's an extremely dangerous substance and readily available to anyone of any age.

Sheriff's Capt. Fired for Sexual Assault

A Laurens County Sheriff's Captain was fired from his job for Assault and Battery 2nd Degree and Loitering to Engage in Sexual Activity.

The Greenville County Sheriff's office was working an undercover operation in response to complaints of unlawful sexual activities on White Horse Rd.

Capt. Michael Thomason, 37, approached the undercover officer who talked him in to getting in the car with him. The undercover officer reports being grabbed by Capt. Thomason in an "inappropriate manner." The undercover officer then identified himself and Thomason was arrested.
Thomason drove to this secluded spot in his department issued unmarked vehicle.
He had been employed with the Laurens Co. Sheriff's Office since 1999.

I really wonder what the fuck was going through his mind. Some guys really need to think with other things besides their pecker!

Two days ago, this charming specimen, already in custody on a Burglary charge in GA, managed to escape from a Stephens County, GA Sheriff's Deputy while he was being transported from Colleton County, SC.

During the ride through Allendale County, SC, Sullivan told the Deputy that he was going to be sick. The deputy pulled off to the side of the road to let Sullivan be sick anywhere else besides inside the car. Unbeknownst to the Deputy, Sullivan had slipped his cuffs and his hands were free. They struggled, and Sullivan over-powered the Deputy, escaping in the patrol car, which contained a shotgun and a .40 cal handgun.
The chase was on!

The Deputy was not hurt and the patrol car was found a few hours later, minus the handgun, in Allendale County, SC. Several jurisdictions converged on the area and a wide net was cast. A tip was received from a woman who was on her way in to work Friday morning. Evidently, Sullivan approached her while she was in her car, pointed the gun at her, and most probably was intent on carjacking her. She stepped on the gas pedal and hauled ass out of there. A quick response by law enforcement to the area and police managed to corner him in a wooded area by a cemetery in Fairfax County, trapping him for almost a day before he was finally taken in to custody on Saturday morning.

I was scanning the news articles about the escapee in one of the local on line newspapers. Upon reading the comments section of the local Charleston, SC paper, I happened across this particular statement, and well....it's difficult to explain. I'll let you make your own conclusions.

Dear Citzens of allendale and fairfax,
I'm writting this post as someone who personally knows perry sullivan! And he is loved very much by his family and nieghbors! What the news never did during this entire ordeal was reach out to his family and even try to understand why hewas in this situation! We deeply apologize for the actions that have taken place and the fear it has caused you guys! He never had intentions of harming anyone he was simply trying to flee! You see this whole ordeal originaly started with a drug induced burgarly by mistake! He was then put in jail when he got out he wanted to stay clean that was all he spoke of but he was let out to snitch! The investagators told him if he got this many people he would go to a rehab and get help! Well in order to snitch he had to get back on drugs bc that was the only way he could bust anyone! He couldnt do it sober! Well after he did as they said they wanted him to do more and he wanted his help that he was promised! Needless to say he had been strung along and they didnt keep their end of the deal! So he just gave up and futher out there! Then he decided to flee to charleston and live a quiet life making money off tattoos! But im sure no one cares what im writing we do! Just imagine if itwas ur family or someone like ur bro! What i'm trying to say we are deeply sorry for the fear he caused anyone in his drug induced life atthe moement but he isnt the person as mean or cruel as what yall have seen! And may i add he was dianosed as achild as parynoid scitzophrinic! So we apologize for his family and dear friends! And thank godthat this all enede well! We are sorry!

I'm guessing that by the family making an apology, it somehow makes up for the long list of felonies their dear loved one committed. It's a bizarre tale of a nitwit family making excuses for the poor moron who was "dianosed as ...parynoid scitzophrinic."

Late night talk show host, David Letterman has become the target of death threats that were posted on a jihadist website.

That's right....a frequent contributor to a radical muslim website urged followers to "cut the tongue" of David Letterman, all over a joke he made about the death of a Muslim leader.....back in June.

In his monologue, Letterman made the joke after a U.S. drone airstrike in Pakistan killed al-Queda leader Ilyas Kashmiri. Letterman made the finger across the neck motion when referring to him and the death of Osama Bin Laden.
A man who uses the pseudonym, "Al-Basrawi" on this website posted this, "Is there not among you a Sayyid Nosair al-Miari to cut the tongue of this lowly Jew and shut it forever?"

Al-Basrawi was referring to a well known terrorist who was convicted of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. In his rant, Al-Basrawi asked Allah to paralyze Letterman's tongue. Asking your God to paralyze someone's tongue is one thing, but when you put out a call to all terrorists to whack a late night talk show host and comedian, then I have to wonder if things are a little slow in the terrorist world.
Oh, and someone forgot to tell Al-Basrawi that Dave's not Jewish.

The Fibbies are looking in to this matter and have been quoted as saying they take this threat seriously.

Radical muslims just don't get that free speech thing. It is our protected 1st Amendment right that allows us to poke fun of ALL religions equally...and their's is no exception.

The J-1 Visa Scam

It's not enough that ICE agents have now had their hands literally tied when it comes to deporting illegal aliens. Basically Obama's (and we all know it is) little ploy has now allowed millions of illegal aliens to remain in this country unless they are either wanted for a heinous crime in another country or committed one here. Liberals just don't seem to get the big picture, do they?
Thank you so much, Mr. President! Don't we have enough problems with anchor babies and other little scams that allow illegals to live off our welfare and medicaid systems?

While I'm all for the land of opportunity and that all too famous saying, "Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free." I personally, feel that the quote, "The wretched refuse of your teeming shore" is a bit of a misnomer. Why must we take the wretched refuge - legally and otherwise? Hell, if you don't want these shitheads, what makes you think we want them?

My paternal Grandparents immigrated to the U.S. through Ellis Island where they entered the country LEGALLY. They had to acclimate themselves to our way of life and culture. They had to learn to read, write and speak ENGLISH. While my Grandmother came here young and able to speak English, my Grandfather, before he met his bride, knew very little. If he could not speak English in his every day tasks, he was turned away. No one would cater to him. You learned English or you were shunned. Why must we, in the 21st century, be forced to learn to speak Spanish in a country where the primary language is English?

From my immigration rant, this leads in to our BIG unemployment problem.

Recent news articles suggest that foreign exchange students come to this country on what they call a J-1 Visa.
In a nutshell, this is a government funded student exchange program that allows foreign students to come to the U.S. to study and work for a specific amount of time.
These J-1 Visa students are an enticement to business owners to hire because they don't have to pay social security and other payroll taxes. Get the picture? Why hire from our huge pool of unemployed American labor when you can outsource and not have to pay taxes and social security?

A recent development shows that some employers were actively recruiting J-1 Visa students to hold down jobs in strip clubs, forcing some in to sexual slavery when their passports were confiscated by a large ring of criminals. Some of the J-1 Visa jobs paid above minimum wage, but food, housing and other supplies were deducted from their paychecks, resulting in an average wage of $1.00 per hour. Students were housed in a dorm like atmosphere that didn't have enough beds or provided for the basic hygiene needs. Many were sharing beds or sleeping on the floor in sub standard conditions.

Now, in protest, 400 students walk off their job in a Pennsylvania chocolate factory that makes Hershey's chocolates. The "Great American Chocolate Bar" people use a contractor, who is turns uses a staffing company to fill seasonal jobs. I know, it's a cluster.
That's 400 seasonal jobs that could go to unemployed Americans. All in the name of saving on paying taxes. Tax monies desperately needed to stimulate our economy by putting American labor back to work.
Let's just take a guess that Hershey is paying an estimated $10. per hour (it's no doubt more) to this less than ethical staffing company to supply them with their labor needs. Hershey doesn't have to pay taxes on that $10. per hour because they contract out the labor. The staffing company is now responsible for taxes and social security. Because of the fact that they're using J-1 Visa labor, they don't have to pay social security or federal income taxes. Ain't that grand? This supposed staffing company then deducts all the expenses they allegedly doled out to house and feed these students, thus leaving the students with little to nothing in take home pay. Imagine the profit on that for the 400 students alone?

When will the average American voter wake up and see the big picture? We can't even afford to take care of our own millions of unemployed, LEGAL residents. Why should we import more problems?
Obamacare tried to shove an illegal medical insurance requirement down our throats. This country is desperate for jobs and doesn't need more debt. Obama's ratings are in the toilet. I wonder why.

Ah, the French - arrogant, socialist, little mothers who are nothing and know nothing. They like to tell the Americans that we are easily offended prudes and that our bourgeois lifestyle is our weakness. They once referred to us as the world's bullies.
We bailed the weeny, ungrateful bastards out of a few skirmishes and this is how they repay us?

The French also thought that the Americans were over-reacting to an Ambercrombie & Fitch campaign ad that depicted a "sexy" 7 year old girl all made up like an adult and wearing "children's lingerie." As we pointed out, children that age do not need to wear a bra with matching panties,sexy lingerie, or even thong underwear.
Not to mention all the adult make up they plastered on that innocent little girl made her look like a cheap prostitute.
Objectionable advertising is one thing, but to portray the innocence of a little girl as "sexy" is just sick and twisted.
It conjures up horrible images of sexual predators. A & F thought there was nothing wrong with it, but they did eventually pull it from the American market.

Then today, along comes this.....
Ambercrombie & Fitch wants to pay one of the stars of the reality show Jersey Shore NOT to wear their clothing. PAY ME! PAY ME!
I hate their overpriced preppy shit anyway.
It kind of surprises me that the self-proclaimed macho guys of Jersey Shore would even be caught dead wearing that label. After all, a good Guido wears Italian. Ambercrombie & Fitch believes that one of the stars of Jersey Shore, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, could cause "significant damage to their image" if he continues wearing their clothes.

It's ok to make a 7 year old little girl look like a 'ho but it's not ok to have a goofy Guido wearing their clothes? Let's not get our priorities screwed up or anything.
Did you know that millions of people watch that stupid freakin' show? I don't see how it could harm A & F in the least. Makes ya wonder if a Frenchman thought that shit up.

This Game Sucks!

The rapper, "The Game," aka: Jayceon Taylor, aka: Charles Louboutin, on his Twitter account,

came up with his own version of a "flash mob" incident which he thought everyone might enjoy, including the cops.

The Game chose to use his Twitter account to solicit someone for an internship position he had available. He posted phone numbers on his account for people to call and apply. The phone number he posted was for the LA County Sheriff's Dept., Compton Division. Right there, the rules of The Game just changed.

Why anyone would want to associate themselves with this sorry ass piece of shit, I'll never know, but being a rapper or drug dealer seems to hold some kind of fascination for blacks....some whites even, who idolize people like this.

As what will happen when you have over 500,000 Twitter fans enamored with this guy, they will call the number and apply for the job. This so over-whelmed the Sheriff's office with unnecessary calls, they had to call in additional support help to answer the phone lines. Not only that, but you've interfered with emergency services personnel who need to be dispatched to real life and death situations.

First rule when you call the police is that 911 is NOT the number to call for EVERYTHING. How many times do we have to tell people that? There is a direct non-emergency line for a reason. 911 is life or death. Chances are pretty good that the same people who answer the 911 line are also the same people who answer the non-emergency number. Some well meaning citizens just as soon dial the non-emergency number instead of 911 because they are just used to it or don't feel it justifies the 911 emergency explanation. Erring on the side of caution is better than abusing it.

Shortly after learning of the problems he caused, he posts this on his Twitter account, "Yall can track a tweet down but you cant solve murders ! Dat was an accident but maybe now yall can actually do yall job!!!!"
Second rule of The Game, don't piss off the police and insult them.

He then dismissed it as a practical joke gone wrong. It was a pretty long winded explanation that any rookie cop would see through and say, "Uh-huh." The Game blamed it on his unidentified friend who allegedly made up the number at random. (Yea, I rolled my eyes too.)
From all accounts, that Twitter account entry remained posted for almost 12 hours before it was eventually taken down.

It took The Game a bit to realize he done f'd up! I'm sure a publicist or assistant whispered in his ear that there is a distinct possibility he could have his picture taken in an orange jumpsuit. Now, he's issued a public apology, showing no remorse or contrition...more of a take it or leave it kind of attitude.

The state of California has 3 different misdemeanors that they are considering charging The Game with.
I don't think they should hesitate with that. His actions were thoughtless and selfish. Both he and his unidentified friend should be charged with at the very minimum, one of those laws.
Accident or not, ignorance of the law is no excuse. Hell, ignorance in general is no excuse.

Here's an idea, they should just haul in their thug asses for being ugly in a pretty zone.
