Guns DO Save Lives

Let's face it, unless you've been living under a rock, you can't help seeing news coverage of all the latest mass shootings. Things like Aurora, Co, the Sikh Temple in Wisconsin and now, the shooting involving NYPD, are prime examples. When these things happen, all the talking heads and liberal media begin asking such hard hitting questions, wondering how it could have happened and how to prevent it. Everybody's got an idea and most involve banning guns altogether. That debate never ends. And as long as there are half assed liberals who want the government to do their thinking for them, then there will always be morons who think that criminals will obey the gun laws.

Let's just take a look at some of the most crime infested cities in the US....they all have gun bans.
Chicago, IL
Baltimore, MD
Camden, NJ
are prime examples of high crime rates and a strict gun ban. There's a correlation but the anti-gun crowd doesn't see it.

Because the near sighted, politically correct news media doesn't point out the facts, and instead glosses over certain details, it tends to result in the anti gun zealots going through life with blinders on. Ask yourself why the majority of gun violence involves black males. Most of the guns obtained by the black males were acquired by them illegally. But you don't hear about that in the news media. It would be racist to do it otherwise.
In fact, when you hear about gun owners and concealed carry permit holders using their firearms in self defense, defense of a third person, or protection of their property, it's usually from some obscure or local source. You don't see CNN or Fox News covering that story. When the average law abiding gun owner does the general public a favor, you certainly don't hear about that in the national news.

There is a website out there called, Guns Save Lives  and it does an excellent job of ferreting out and reporting on stories of people who have used their firearms to protect themselves. Paste it to your favorites and read the latest stories. The criminal element needs to be on their toes because the pissed off  public refuses to be a victim!

Standing Your Ground

The recent controversy surrounding the Zimmerman/Martin shooting case has put many Democrats and liberal morons jumping on to an out-of-control bandwagon. Democratic legislators from several Castle Doctrine states are already springing in to action in a sorry ass attempt to keep and maintain their votes come re-election time. Their knee jerk reactions over the Stand Your Ground law should not be surprising, but many wonder where the common sense road has gone to.

It's obvious....the Common Sense Road has been paved over by the Blvd. of Political Correctness.






Have we become a nation of 'let's feel good about ourselves' whites who voted for a black president because it was the right thing to do? Never mind that he was just another corrupt Chicago politician, that he was totally unqualified, and his American birthright was and still is, questionable. Blacks who don't ordinarily vote  for whatever reason there may be, came out in droves to put this pathetic loser in office. Never mind if he was qualified or not. The vast majority of blacks voted him in to office based solely on the color of his skin.
To this day, I swear that there was an over abundance of voter fraud perpetrated on the fateful day in November 2008. We can only hope that 2012 will bring about a serious change.

Approximately 25 states have some kind of Stand Your Ground rule or Castle Doctrine laws on the books.
In Florida, where the Zimmerman/Martin case is under intense scrutiny, their rule is simple;

While I am still reserving judgment on this case, it would seem that the majority of blacks just can't help throwing out the race card. It's not all about race. It's all about not living in fear of the thugs and criminals that perpetrate dangerous felonies upon innocent victims of our society. Law abiding citizens should not have to live in fear of the criminal element and should be able to stand their ground and defend themselves and their property. Why should we run screaming in to the night as some politicians would propose?
As you can see, Sen. Robert Ford, (D) of South Carolina has jumped on to the liberal bus to hell and proposes changes in South Carolina's law. He doesn't even know the circumstances of the Zimmerman/Martin incident, but it's obvious why.  He's black and well, he thinks it's the right thing to do for his peeps.
South Carolina's Protection of Persons and Property Act reads as follows;

PROTECTION OF PERSONS AND PROPERTY ACT

The stated intent of the legislation is to codify the common law castle doctrine, which recognizes that a person’s home is his castle, and to extend the doctrine to include an occupied vehicle and the person’s place of business. This bill authorizes the lawful use of deadly force under certain circumstances against an intruder or attacker in a person’s dwelling, residence, or occupied vehicle. The bill provides that there is no duty to retreat if (1) the person is in a place where he has a right to be, including the person’s place of business, (2) the person is not engaged in an unlawful activity, and (3) the use of deadly force is necessary to prevent death, great bodily injury, or the commission of a violent crime. A person who lawfully uses deadly force is immune from criminal prosecution and civil action, unless the person against whom deadly force was used is a law enforcement officer acting in the performance of his official duties and he identifies himself in accordance with applicable law or the person using deadly force knows or reasonably should have known the person is a law enforcement officer.

H.4301 (R412) was signed by the Governor on June 9, 2006.

You see anything racist in that law? Without knowing all the facts, what does the Senator propose?
The same groups who cry racism are they themselves radical bigots. The latest version of the Black "pussy" Panthers is nothing but a home grown terrorist group hell bent on vigilantism and have appointed themselves judge, jury and executioner. They have put a price on Zimmerman's head. Spike Lee is also an arrogant jackass who should look before he leaps. He tweeted what he thought was Zimmerman's address and it turned out to be an elderly couple that had nothing to do with the shooting. These poor folks were harrassed and their lives put in danger all because Spike here thought it was a good idea. Oh yes, Spike Lee should be made to pay for that mistake in more ways than one.

If Obama and Atty. Gen. Holder have their way, we will become another socialist country who will slowly lose our 2nd amendment right thereby disarming the citizenry. Thugs and criminals don't play by the rules and will still find guns. We will be helpless in the face of such danger.

Now let's look at the statistics;
Correctional facilities in the US boast a population of 85% black. They kill each other more than they kill other races. However, heaven forbid that blacks beat up, rape, rob and in general cause mayhem against whites or another minority. That's not racism. To them, that is justice. How is that justice? Justice for something that happened 200 years ago? Move on, get over it. Make something out of your life. Stay in school and learn something other then how to deal in drugs, weapons, and commit crimes. If you were to go on to Facebook, you would find an endless amount of profiles of blacks who do nothing but glamorize the thug life style. There are pictures of many posing with wads of cash, drugs and guns of all kinds.
Is this what the black race has become?  Living off of public assistance, dropping out of school and making babies with a slew of Mamas? All this because they feel entitled?

That particular paragraph leads me to an anonymous blog that is less than 2 weeks old. It has attracted attention both locally and internationally regarding its portrayal of some local black thugs and gangers. The writers of this blog have already been accused of being racist, even though all the information they gleaned on their local thugs was already displayed on the public forum called Facebook.

The blog known as http://chasthuglife.blogspot.com/  was developed after an officer involved shooting of a black male who was armed with a gun. His family and friends cried the usual racism by white officer bullshit and then some enterprising people from the Thug Life team happened to locate this suspect's Facebook profile that was filled with incriminating evidence. The writers directed said information to their local newspaper "journalist" and then the blog mushroomed in to a repository of thugdom. It's a must read and on my list of blogs to follow. They bill themselves as telling the undiluted truth about stories that the news media will never write about.
They're right. For those of you who have never really fully experienced what the average thug on the street thinks and does, read for yourself. These thugs wanna kill crackas with impunity and thems niggas is all been framed.

FL Officer in Critical Condition after Responding to Domestic

Auburndale, FL

Police officer Stacy Booth (inset) responded to a 911 call from children who stated their parents were arguing.  The children hung up on the 911 operator before she could get further info.

As Officer Booth approached the front door of the residence, unbeknownst to her, Michael Wayne Lester lurked behind the door with automatic weapons and over 1000 rounds of ammo.  Lester fired through the front door, striking Officer Booth 2 times, once in the abdomen and another in the arm.  Reportedly, a 3rd shot hit her holster and disabled her duty weapon. However, only one news source seems to have that information.

Bleeding profusely, she dragged herself next door where the neighbors gave her cover until assistance could arrive.  Half dozen jurisdictions and over 20 units responded to the call.  A hostage negotiator  was called in and this piece of shit,

would not negotiate or listen to reason.  Since he was barricaded and had an ample supply of weapons and ammo, the tactical team first set off tear gas canisters in his home and then used a fire department robot to storm the house.  Lester was unconscious when SWAT went in.
Police are unsure how he received those lacerations on his face.  Like they care, I'm sure.

Officer Booth remains in critical but stable condition.
Our thoughts are with her on a speedy recovery.

Another Officer Involved Shooting going to the Feds?

On May 16, the sleepy, and somewhat venal little town of Cottageville, SC, famous for its ticket revenue speed trap, made headlines when Police Officer Randy Price shot and killed the former mayor on a narrow dirt road called Nut Hatch Lane.

From all accounts, the former Mayor, Bert Reeves, allegedly was unarmed at the time of the shooting and one shot to the chest took him down. No one knows what brought them face to face at that particular place and time or what may have led up to it. In fact, no one knows much of anything. As with all officer involved shootings in the state of South Carolina, it falls under the purview of SLED.

Speculation and small town gossip are running high. The present Mayor, who is also the former Mayor's Aunt, recently made a public statement to the press, "SLED has told me to remain mum on the matter until their investigation is complete." Interesting choice of words that conjured up more gossip. A recent fact was released that may or not be relevant; The present Mayor reported finding a machete on her front lawn on the day of the shooting. Law enforcement officials were still processing the crime scene when 2 officers came over to collect it. One has no idea what significance that may have on this investigation.

As I noted in a previous post, both Officer Price and former Mayor Reeves, have some heavy duty baggage that also throws an interesting twist on what is already a tantalizing little soap opera.
Somebody should write a book!


Officer Price's work history, which is on file with the SC Criminal Justice Academy, shows that he worked for 7 different law enforcement agencies since 1998.  This link will give further details. It's not pretty and it's the kind of thing that makes good cops look bad.

Mayor Reeves is not without his share of run-ins with the law. Most notably for traveling at 103 miles per hour, then pissing and moaning about getting a ticket for it.  His reckless driving habits caused him to later total his vehicle, leading to a serious head injury. The Highway Patrol charged him with DUI, but that charge was later dismissed.  His blood test results showed he was under the influence of marijuana, but not enough to establish the evidence needed under the DUI statute.  He eventually recovered from his injuries and later, he reluctantly resigned as Mayor, perhaps as a result of the vocal outcry from the citizenry. He had some domestic issues as well that prompted his wife and children to leave the family residence.
He's a colorful character, to say the least.

Then along comes another tidbit.....An attorney by the name of Peter Protopapas claims he was personal friends with the now deceased Mr. Reeves and that they had a casual discussion about Officer Price.
Protopapas asserts that Reeves told him he felt he was being harassed by Price. Oddly enough, this attorney makes this announcement to the news media only last week, admitting that he hadn't spoken with investigators yet about this information. One would think that the information may have been "privileged" under the attorney/client concept, but if he was attempting to help his friend, why would he withhold any information?
Ah, the plot thickens! 


Now it just gets even more peculiar -


The local area newspaper reports that the chief prosecutor for the 14th judicial circuit, Duffie Stone, has written a letter to US Attorney Bill Nettles asking for a federal grand jury.  Stone's letter read in part, “Due to the complex nature of this investigation I am asking that your office use the investigative abilities of the federal grand jury to assume the investigation and prosecution of this matter."  
I don't think the word "complex" is the appropriate adjective to describe this 3 ring circus.

Finally, an attorney by the name of Mullins McLeod, is representing the late Mayor Reeves' family and he too appears to be trying this case in front of the news media. He's actually made a written request to have this incident added on to the agenda of an upcoming town council meeting.  The Mayor refused, citing personnel confidentiality. This attorney's methods are just as off beat as Protopapas'.

It seems that nothing is ever easy in the quaint little town of Cottageville.

Officer Involved Shooting brings Feds

Eutawville, SC - (pronounced like the state of Utah)

A small community in Orangeburg County,
population 500, lies some 50 miles northwest of Charleston.
Their police department consists of one police officer, the Police Chief.

This is the 4th police officer in the last year that the town council has hired.

The present chief, Ricky Combs, was hired by Eutawville after he had been released from light duty at the Elloree Police Dept. where he had been employed for several years.  Prior to that, he had been terminated from the Orangeburg Co. Sheriff's Dept.  Combs was employed by the Sheriff's office for 6 years, and was terminated for 'violating that agency's policies, but not for misconduct.'  Such is the wording of the personnel document. That could mean anything from substandard performance to sleeping on duty.
Every time a police officer leaves a department, the SC Criminal Justice Academy is notified as to their reasons, whether it be a transfer or termination. Believe it or not, that information is accessible under the FOI act.  With that, the cops in SC have a right to be a tad paranoid about their every move.

Story goes that on May, 2, Bernard Bailey, 54 years of age and a former corrections officer, went to Eutawville town hall with a traffic ticket belonging to his daughter.  It is said that his intent was to get the court date changed.  Combs and Bailey came face to face in the parking lot.  The only fact that was released is that Bailey was shot 3 times by Combs.  No other information was given.  Was Bailey armed, you ask?  The consensus was that he was not, and the Orangeburg Co. Sheriff's Dept. incident report was a colossal joke.  How can anyone justify a written incident report that contains one sentence? As with all officer involved shootings in SC, the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) handles the investigation. I'm guessing Orangeburg Co. figured that it was merely "an assist" call and that's all they needed to write.  A perfectly good example of a bad report.  You know, "Saw drunk. Arrested same."  So short. So wrong.

What is remarkably refreshing is that this has been a rather subdued investigation and there have been no ugly outcries of racism and no finger pointing.  Yes, Bailey is black and Combs is white.  Bailey's family has asked everyone to remain calm and not to jump to conclusions.  A recent town hall meeting that attracted over 500 people and the NAACP asked for witnesses to come forward and for everyone to cooperate fully with law enforcement.  While the SC State Law Enforcement Division was already in the midst of investigating this shooting, the Feds have now thrown their hat in the ring.  The US Attorney's office and the FBI confirmed it today. Clearly, this means the feds wouldn't be poking their nose in to a local matter if there wasn't more than just a hint of a civil rights violation.  Either that, or somebody's got a little juice.

A Facebook page for Bailey has been set up, seeking comments and condolences. The FB page also has a link to an on line petition.  The author of the petition, who has an annoying question mark addiction, seeks to bring notice to the US Congress for a federal investigation.  Last count for signatures on the petition was about 1400. Well the Feds are here so hold the phone!

This Facebook page has also drawn the attention of a recent nightmarish pain-in-the-ass that goes by the name of Tyler Williams.  If you recall, Williams is the uncle of one Bobby Gadsden who was shot and killed by a homeowner because he was in the process of burglarizing his home.  Uncle Tyler seeks to compare this incident with his own experience against the Castle Doctrine.  Maybe he thinks that he can get the attention of the Feds while they're in town. Uncle Tyler changes the story every time he tells it and he is not someone I'd ever want as an ally. This is what Williams posted on the FB wall for Bernard Bailey -

From Tyler Williams, the uncle of Bobby L. Gadsden Jr. who was shot in the back of his head while unarmed & fleeing a home, that he was allegdly given access to by the home owner's (also shooter) son in Moncks Corner, SC on 4/13/2011. "Authorities" deemed it justifiable with no questions asked, even after many of the lies they told to cover-up this murder &  mislead the public, were exposed with crime scene photos. Such as him wearing a mask, holding a shot gun or even being shot coming down the stairs. My families' heart felt condolences & prayers go out to the Bailey family for your tragic loss! We pray that justice be served not only for my nephew &  Mr. Bailey but for all those unjustifiably murdered in SC & considered "justified" by those who misappropriate & abuse the use of the Castle Doctrine.

If you read my other posts; Homeowner Shoots Burglar, The Castle Doctrine Goes on Trial, Give it up Already!, One More Thing..., you'll know that Tyler Williams is not your ordinary loud-mouthed, bigoted moron looking for some easy money.  No, he's a bothersome, blood sucking tick!  He's like a wound that won't heal.  He is more than tactless - if that's possible.  The man has no shame.  I wouldn't be surprised if he tries riding on the coat tails of this incident just to get his face in front of a camera again.

I don't profess to have an opinion one way or another on this particular shooting.  But I have to admit, it ain't lookin' so good for Combs.

Gypsy Cops and Small Town Politics

Two small police departments in eastern South Carolina each had an officer involved shooting within the last week.
One in a place called Eutawville, (Orangeburg County), with a population of 500, and another in Cottageville, (Colleton County), which has a population of approximately 800.

With small towns come small town budgets.That being said, it's obvious that salaries for public officials such as police officers, aren't very attractive. Most police officers would opt for a mid-size to larger department for both the salary and benefits they offer. Rural areas such as these don't have the financial capabilities to send a police officer to the academy for their state accreditation. Instead, they generally attract the less than desirable certified officers and on rare occasions, retired officers who are seeking to supplement their pensions. Most retirees have had enough politics and opt for other, less stressful places.

The term "Gypsy" is defined as a nomad or roamer. When a police officer roams from one department to another, staying at these departments for 2 years or less, a potential employer really should do their homework.

At one time, employers were reluctant to reveal anything negative about the employment of a former employee for fear of litigation. That included police officers. Some years ago, a local Charleston, SC newspaper wrote an expose on this gypsy police problem that was titled, "Tarnished Badges."

It exposed how many problem police officers were continuously hired by one department after another because they couldn't get necessary knowledge about an officer's previous work history.  As a direct result of that article, the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy supposedly made some changes so that information must be shared between departments. The Academy can, in their discretion, actually revoke the officer's certification thereby preventing that officer from ever working as a police officer in the state.  However, the system can't work properly if appropriate actions aren't taken when the symptoms start presenting themselves. It would appear that the information was passed on to the appropriate people at the Academy, but no one thought to give that envelope another push.

In the Cottageville incident, the officer involved in this shooting has quite a work history. This officer asserts that he was the 'poster child' for pissing off politicians. Take note of the information the reporter was able to obtain on Officer Price's work history.  Make your own conclusion. Now, let's take in to consideration the moron he shot and killed. He was the former mayor of that small town and he had his own checkered past. Former Mayor Bert Reeves was the quintessential small town, arrogant, back woods, laughable politician. His driving habits left a trail and once again, you can make your own conclusions. Let's just say Reeves didn't have a real big fan base.

In the Eutawville incident, there are a great many questions that need answering.  Just the information gleaned from this newspaper article alone is enough to make you say, WHAT THE FUCK?!  You really have to ask yourself why the town's one police officer, the Police Chief, is the 4th cop this little town has hired in the last year. The Chief shot and killed a former corrections officer outside of town hall. An Orangeburg county Deputy Sheriff was dispatched upon request from the Police Chief. The Deputy's incident report was a total farce. I question whether that Deputy had a supervisor or if that was just some small town ploy used to bypass the FOI request made by the local media.

As with all police officer involved shootings, the SC State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) does the investigation and then takes whatever actions may be necessary. They appear to be a bit busy this week.

I am puzzled by the ONE major factor that is missing from both these incidents. All the facts aren't in yet so I won't make any assumptions.
In fact, this latest update now combines these two stories in a similar fashion.
