Yes, I chided Bloomberg once before when on the date of the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attack he chose to announce that there just wasn't enough room at the memorial service for all the first responders because the dignitaries were more important. Yea, you know, the President, the Governors, all those. He made room for families but pissed off all the cops, firefighters and medics who were there that day. They too want to pay their respects and he thumbed his nose at them. "Another time, another place," he said.
He GOT ASSHOLE OF THE YEAR AWARD from me.
There's a special kind of stupid when you're a liberal with a lot of money. Not that having a lot of money is a bad thing. Hey, I'm a firm believer in capitalism. It's what America's all about. I just don't believe in the government poking its nose in my business. I don't want a nanny. I don't need to be saved from myself. Having some money and being a total asshole somehow also requires the need to be a nanny for all those people out there who don't know enough not to eat junk food or drink too much soda.
That's right, the notorious 'soda ban' goes in to effect next week. It's bad enough that the Mayor even thought up this totally moronic idea, what's worse is that other city officials agreed with it and signed it in to law. OY!
Bloomberg's twisted logic is that if we stop selling those huge liter bottles, people will stop drinking so much soda pop.
Who's going to enforce this pointless law? The Soda Police?
The only thing he has succeeded in doing is pissing off the consumer. The consumer will be paying more in the long run for soft drinks because Hizzoner the Asshole has outlawed a family value pack on a pizza night. It won't stop people from drinking soda any more than it will stop people from eating pizza. It just ain't gonna happen. What's next on his hit list? McDonald's? Pizza Hut? Burger King?
Who died and made him the supreme ruler of our dietary needs? Does he drink soda or patronize any fast food establishments? I'm betting he does.
Mr. Mayor, can't you find something a little more important to do at city hall?
